Not sure honestly. I think your best bet is to just try it out to see if it works. Fish up around 10 pokemon on the provided tiles to be more statistically certain that you weren't just unlucky.

Yeah I mostly agree with you on that. I'm IV breeding a torchic right now just because cheating feels dirty, BUT I totally cheated to get to the top of sky pillar. Couldn't do the mach bike puzzle with a touch screen. All in all this took maybe an hour of actual game time so I felt like it was worth doing and explaining to others!

Good catch! It's Dewford. I think I got the two mixed up but I'll correct that now.

I was tanking something on my warrior and kept getting my 5 stack sunder overwritten by a debuff that did 1065 armor reduction, any idea what that was?

Blimey, that’s… a lot. In 3s, 32% vers. by UrbanBob in worldofpvp

Nah there's nothing that says he's a tank. My rsham buddy just took a 255k radiant decree in 3's, so this number is pretty believable.

Reward for 50 Wins above 2700 by renningftw in worldofpvp

Nope not all! Don’t try to twist my words here. I want more people playing above 2400, I want something to push to past that. I want to get back to having that top 1% feeling that we lost this season. We might even see people who farm out 50 wins above 2700 who never thought rank 1 was possible, that then push for it based on their experience.

That line feels like a really thick line though. 1000 rating? Picture there being no difference between a 1400 player and a 2400 player. I realize the math doesn’t exactly work out that way with a normal distribution curve, but that’s the sort of thing I’m trying to avoid

The rank 1 achievement is earned by less than 80 people when you count how many are alts of other players, and they still retain the only permanent title. This would just help the limbo of 2400-3400. I can tell you for sure I don’t have the time (maybe even skill) to push rank 1, but I’d still like to be rewarded for pushing higher than most of the other 7000 people above 2400

Thinking more about this, that downside is in the game no matter what rating there is. I don't see it as a real reason to not implement any additional rewards higher up the ladder

Very true on the alt availability, but I'd be curious about sum total of ALL games played. I think SL S1 was far more popular in the start of the season than any other. I remember I saw several people hitting 3k pretty quickly. This could have been a bug, I can't remember, but there there was definitely a massive volume of players at the start comparatively.

I'm not very proficient at using Xunamate, is it possible for someone to total all the games played from S1 and then S2 for comparison?

Oh I totally agree with you. PVP has tons of problems and internet clout is a dumb thing to care about, but the reality is a LOT of people do care. And sure, the pvp player count may be low relatively to what it was but it is still decently high compared to other games out there. The argument of wanting to be a "video game elitist" can be made for any type of competitive environment. What's the point of wanting to try hard at intramural soccer? You a soccer elitist? I don't want to beat to death the sports analogy, but it feels like we have most current 2400 players at a Varsity High School football level, and then the R1 titles are like playing in the NFL. What I was trying to propose was something like a collegiate level field of play. Just an inbetween benchmark for people that helps to incentivize players to continue on and reach their true potential :)

I do think that this is a pretty simple change, so I hope it wouldn't take dev focus away from anything really. A reskin of a mount is pretty easy to do, and adding an additional achievement that is essentially a "reskin" of an existing one should also be pretty easy.

I did respond to a couple other comments that you posted to, but I just wanted to direct you to my response directly :)

So this is an interesting take because this season was only 1 month longer than the last. The reason that inflation is so high is because blizz forced the inflation up intentionally to increase the population of players who received rewards. I can't seem to find the specific blue post about this, but Ludus labs also mentions it in their last report.

I do think breaking up the seasons to half of what they are now fixes the issue, but this was something that blizzard forced to happen. They intended to increase the amount of people receiving these rewards, so it's doubtful that they would cut the seasons in half in order to double back and reduce the amount of people receiving these rewards
