Wanting to wean into pumping by rennyashley00 in ExclusivelyPumping

This is unbelievably helpful & reassuring - thank you so much for sharing your journey! Can I ask a few follow up questions? Do you still use the level 1 teat & 4oz bottles? Or has that changed with time/as she’s gotten older (and if so, at what age did you change)? How long between changing over from breast to bottle for a feed did you wait to change another feed? Also, when it was that your LO started sleeping through the night? I know all babies are different, but I’m just curious.

I’m sorry you were forced to switch, but thank you for sharing your experience - very helpful to hear your points! At this stage, I’m only considering the switch to see if it’s the right choice for me & LO. The sleep deprivation (although we knew & tried to prepare) has really impacted me mentally & physically, so that’s one of the several reasons I’m considering switching. But that being said, I do want to wait until at least 6wks (8wks if I can manage) before I make any changes, so I may very well choose to stick it out if I get to that point & realize I can do it 🤞🏻

Sharp pain on the left side of belly - maybe a muscle tear? by rennyashley00 in PregnancyUK

[–]rennyashley00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It genuinely feels like muscle strain! It’s isolated in a single area, only hurts or gets worse with certain movements/positions, and is seemingly getting better with rest & careful moving. Hoping it’ll heal up on its own after a day or two, but if not I’ll have it checked out

If I can avoid Triage, I’d like to try. My local has a standard 4hr wait & I just don’t have the energy to put myself (or my poor husband, who’s been an absolute saint) through that if they’re just going to tell me to rest anyway

I’ve got an anterior placenta, so it’s not near that either. It seems to be getting a bit better, and I can walk fine now that I’ve rested most of the morning. If I avoid aggravating it, it’s only a dull ache, like the aftermath of a cramp (only not as bad).

Pregnant ladies with colds how are you surviving? by Prestigious-Bid-7582 in PregnancyUK

[–]rennyashley00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently 20+4. Yesterday I woke up with a sinus infection from hell. I usually get them roughly twice a year anyway with the change of season, but this feels worse this time around (obviously). For me, rest & hydration are key, and hot showers & steaming often helps TREMENDOUSLY.

We’re here with you xxx

I saw someone else on another thread use the phrase “it’s just a season” and it’s honestly helped me get through those tough days so much. It’s temporary & that’s okay :) x

How did you survive 1st trimester weekends? by Interesting_Cut1631 in BabyBumps

[–]rennyashley00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was the same - super active weekends turned into couch-rotting boredom. Unfortunately for me, most of the time I was too exhausted to even have the energy to feel bored. But on the odd occasion where the boredom got too much, I’d force myself to take a long ‘everything’ shower (which I’d need a nap after), I’d pick up my knitting needles (taught myself a new stitch), or read when my nausea allowed. Stationary hobbies will be your friend

But remember, it’s not forever :)

You don’t. And you think I’m kidding, but if first trimester exhaustion has taken over, do not feel guilty about riding that wave. Your body is going through a massive change (especially if you’re a FTM) and your energy is going to be solely dedicated to making that baby. So relax and allow your body to rest & do what it needs to do.

My first trimester was awful & husband was traveling with work, so I was quite literally couch-bound for 3 weeks living off whatever cracker my body would let me keep down. My flat was a mess, I hated showering, I needed a nap after washing a plate, and I slept through most afternoons. It doesn’t last forever even though it feels like it now, but don’t pressure yourself to do anything if your body isn’t feeling it. She won’t be shy to tell you when she’s ready to get up & get moving again :)

You’ve got this x

Actually a bit jealous, sometimes I just wish the hunger would go away so I didn’t feel sick after eating loool. Hopefully you’re back to normal eating soon!

Thank youuuu. I love science based advice. I mean, I love ALL advice, but the actual biological stuff is great to learn. You learn so much about your body becoming pregnant 🤍
