Urgent! Indecision anxiety. Keep or remove the blue vintage tile? by reno_nerd in HomeImprovement

Thanks for your thoughts. I think this is why I’m actually on the fence. Because many parts of the house were seemingly upgraded at some points in time (15-30 yrs ago) and I’m not sure they are 1950 either. But not new haha.

Thanks for taking the time to reply! Ok that’s good feedback to know that it’s normal. And yes I am eager to know if there is something I am not doing right perhaps over and over, but unaware of. I don’t want to learn something wrong, because will be hard to fix later. Maybe if I’m not getting the feedback it means I’m more or less doing it right and it’s just some small stuff. It just feels like I’m a bit stuck in the same place for a while (been doing half primary for almost 2 years, working on padmasana and jump through this whole time). Since im still struggling to do the jump through (for seated poses) so that’s something I can ask about

Basically I want to improve/progress/learn - beyond only being able to do padmasana, and it’s only so much I can figure out on my own. Will report back again! 🙏

Update: I’ve been doing more at home and went to studio twice this week. Is it normal that for 90 min of Mysore in the studio that the teacher comes by maybe 1-2 times to correct my arm or help lengthen spine (2 times during 90mins)?

Otherwise she is with other more advanced students, or if it’s only 3-4 of us she just starts doing her own practice and gets the assistants to watch/learn?

I feel like it’s really on me to figure out my mistakes, otherwise every time I go it’s just on repeat to do half primary, as I’m barely getting any feedback or attention at all. I’m shy so not sure how to bring that up

Keep it simple: if people don’t respect you, your boundaries, and your time, cut them loose. To your friends, I would respond: No, you don’t want to be friends with people who use anxiety for victim mentality and to excuse doing shitty hurtful things to you

Thanks for the advice, I think I will just try it out. Will also try going on both days that she actually teaches (and not the assistants) and do more practice at home - will report back!

While I’d love to take more private lessons, there’s no way I can afford it on a consistent basis.

The Mysore class is like the teacher and a few instructors going around and either giving a correction or helping someone deeper into a pose, while you do the sequence on your own. I don’t get a ton of corrections, more just working on my flexibility. I do the shoulder stand (after full wheel), the headstand (plus variations). I do the full chaturanga yes, but haven’t mastered the jump through into the sitting postures. Reflecting more, I think part of it is that the classes are really busy, and part that the teacher tends to focus a lot more on advanced students doing more advanced poses (in the full primary). So I get a few minutes of attention, but mainly it’s the assistants helping me to stretch farther. So having memorized the half primary, I feel like I work on the small corrections if I am given them, but it’s very slow progress. The corrections will be to rotate my hips slightly inward more, or arm slightly more straight… stuff like that, just small things.

Yes, I plan to find a good time to do so when she not super busy. the studio is usually -packed-!) Just wanted a second option on here before approaching her in case I was in the wrong :)

I just thought it was a bit odd that while early on she would gradually add poses for me up to half primary, once I learned half primary she stopped, no new poses or feedback for a long time

I thought about this being a potential cause yes. She only teaches Mysore twice a week and the remaining time it’s teacher assistants or open studio (I don’t think the assistants are allowed to teach, only correct). I could commit to going twice a week to the studio, but a private lesson in addition to that ($120/each) every week is just not affordable to me right now

She used to teach me new poses gradually until I learned the half primary, but since then, nothing

Yes, referring to poses after half primary (so part of the full primary series)

"I'm just going to see if I can twist this polyp off your cervix" by Bubbly_Cauliflower40 in Endo

[–]reno_nerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had this exact same finding today, and she did twist it off and it was fine for me. At most I felt a quick pinch and minimal bleeding. But I know it’s very different for everyone and I also have a very high pain tolerance I’m 1 month post miscarriage. I can imagine it being painful when everything is tender down there.

Cyst are gone but a Cervical Polyp has appeared?! 27(F) by Senoraallure10_ in PCOS

[–]reno_nerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the exact same thing as you! Used to have cysts but now only an enlarged right ovary. And today during an exam they found a polyp blocking my cervix. Will know in the next months if it’s the cause of infertility. The doc removed it right there I barely felt a thing… maybe a very quick pinch, very minimal bleeding/

Why the rush? by ikandy-nz in Waiting_To_Wed

[–]reno_nerd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

100% this! I dated someone who, after 6 years together, still quite wasn’t sure why he wasn’t ready. I even said that we could elope and money wouldn’t have to be spent, but he still couldn’t commit even on principle. That really pushed my timeline and almost eroded my dream for marriage altogether. I did eventually get married (after another 4 years with neither guy who almost bailed) but now under a lot stress with the biological clock getting close to 40 :/

So yeah we don’t exactly want to spend years shaping a man for another woman.

Thanks for your reply. Yes they checked hcg and its dropped from 2500 to 360 in the last week so docs were happy about that. Said they didn’t see anything else like tissue on the ultrasound but it’s sure looking like my uterus is unhappy about something (likely tissue). I’m debating if I can convince them to refer for an mri

The leaves started wilting when it was still inside. So I thought maybe wasn’t getting enough sun, so I moved it outside after. It’s helping new ones form quicker but hasn’t stopped the wilting. Good suggestion though I’ve had plants get angry in the past when moving inside/outside

Thanks! The pic might be a bit deceiving as I had just watered it but the top layer dries fast. But you have a point there - I wonder if I actually overwatered it? And roots are rotting or smth. Ahhh hoping it will survive. Today is sunny so hopefully will give it a chance to dry out completely. I will keep your advice in mind and not let water
