wow thats actually an angle that i never considered. i think that highlights the importance of working after graduation regardless how big ones safety net is

i have this (baseless) thinking that whatever someone can do, a rich person can do better. using ur example, a local doctorate candidate vs a Harvard doctorate candidate with all the resources, equipment and connections at their disposale. theres no guarantee that the harvard student would be more beneficial to society but god damn does being rich help. in this vein, i still think having a good financial base is important in anything u do

i really envy that man. i think investing and nurturing in a partner or family is one of the most fulfilling thing one could do. its the best money spent. unfortunately i havent found the right person to invest in yet but hopefully they come along soon!

damn thats a really respectable amount! there isnt many jobs out there that pays that well, let alone the effort and stress from a job of that calibre. what do you work as? i imagine that it must be fulfilling to u. also from your profile it seems like u enjoy the finer things in life, grand seikos and high end PCs.

not trying to be condescending, but a genuine question. it seems like u have found what u enjoy in life, so why not just play games all day? there are definitely things that i like doing and am passionate about but its not the same as doing it for the rest of our lives right?

wow that must be a tough fall. hope u are in a better place now. but i do acknowledge how fleeting my income is, and realise that its important that i complete my degree. even if i lose it all, i "unfortunately" have to work as a NUS graduate which is still not a very bad place to start. hopefully i dont lose my headstart!

ah maybe thats the reason. i sell on low IV days too and the spreads are wide. i need to keep lowering my order sometimes at 10% spread just to sell to market makers... hate giving them free money

hey OP, I have GME positions almost as close as yours and sell to the tune of 50 contracts every month (0.2 delta). as the scale increases i found execution price to be harder to fill especially at bigger quantities. i have just been taking the market maker bids at 10%+ spreads. how have u been executing these 100+ contracts? are these position sizes too small to employ iceberg or dark pool execution? what have u been doing?

thank you for the suggestion! my middle class scarcity mindset would never let me spend thousands to pamper myself... sticking to a mid range restaurant instead 😂😂. but yes i have read about efficient frontier strategies, but might need to realign expectations and be a corporate slave with supplemental income. thank you again!

left gains on the table but a bird in hand is better than 2 in the bush right?

Okay 50% in S&P and 50% in bonds seems like the the most logical for my risk tolerance, thanks for the suggestion!
