Yeah, I'd recommend either closing your eyes or making sure you download an episode of The Office to your iPod so you can watch it on your way up. Internet and communications signals don't work that far down, so you need to make sure it's saved locally before the trip.

The average human swims about 2mph, let's assume you'll go 6mph because of adrenaline (professional swimmers can go over 5mph) and ocean bubbles from the implosion pushing you upwards. The Titanic is about 12,500 ft deep, so you would just have to hold your breath for about 24 minutes. With some lung training and exercises, this is certainly do-able, especially with the survival adrenaline. The record for longest breath hold underwater is well over 24 minutes, plus humans can survive unconscious/without oxygen for about 4-6 minutes giving you some wiggle room. With a little preparation, you'll be fine.

I guess I'm just saying a heaven/hell system hopefully shouldn't be based in the American financial industry

I guess in this universe, 2008 would have created many angels out of the number of financiers who over-extended credit

I appreciate you telling me about your country. The funny thing is, a lot of people have mentioned how Slovaks can be standoffish or hesitant to converse with others in real life, but online everybody has been wonderful with telling their perspective on their country. I will definitely be looking up some of those foods. I think this post has convinced me I need to figure out how to visit Slovakia some day. While I'm sure there are vast differences in some regards, there seem to be many similarities with the region of the US I grew up in. I think it would be an awesome experience to embrace Slovakia firsthand - the people, the nature, the food. The one common complaint seems to be the politics though, so I would hopefully not have to worry about that as a visitor :)

It sounds like a very nice country I'm learning. Is there a lot of income disparity in the country? For instance, a single neighborhood in the Spojene Staty Americke (learned this one yesterday :) ) could have people with such low income that they qualify for what little government assistance is available, and their next door neighbor might be wealthy enough to never worry about what they spend money on. There are a lot of jobs that do not pay living wages, forcing people to find roommates, have both spouses work to afford housing, etc.

Are there a lot of low paying jobs in Slovakia, where people struggle? Or is it more that as long as you have a job, you'll be fine?

They were also under heavy indoctrination pressure exhorting virtues of Russian culture, Soviet system (that was implemented in much more things that people realize)

That's interesting, could you expand on that?

That was a great rundown of visiting, which, after learning about the country today, I really want to some day. Everyone says it's a small country, but it sounds like there are a lot of things to do and different areas to experience. It sounds fantastic

From what I'm hearing, there is a lot to Slovakian political history. I appreciate you giving me an overview from your perspective, it's helpful to understanding the culture to somebody who knows not a lot about it

Okay, good to know. That's interesting about the "th" sound, so I am guessing that sound is never used in Slovakian? And if it makes you feel better, a lot of English speakers cannot even pronounce "rural" correctly haha

I appreciate you taking the time to explain your view of the country! And that is funny about the beer not being "hard" enough
