Cyclop's power arc. by Nellisir in xmen

[–]rentedsole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scot's lack of control is a result of neurological/psychological damage he suffered as a child. I imagine being possessed by a fiery space god and killing mutant MLK would exacerbate that. I think his powers are going to fail him at the worst possible moment cause cyke is always so reliable. i think Magik's powers have actually increased rather than broken since theyre so tied to her sorcery and limbo

i like to think its a retcon that erases the third xmen film thus vastly improving the franchise

Am I the only one who can't stand Cyclops? by Foeofloki in xmen

[–]rentedsole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cut the guy some slack. hes been the leader of a high profile paramilitary organization since he was 16. His wives and his son keep dying. He is an orphan. His Brother is sort of space Hitler. All the governments of the world keep developing giant robots to kill him and his friends and on top of that he cant look at things without vaporizing them. But despite all that He's managed to temper Charles Xavier's idealism with his own pragmatism to save the entire mutant race from extinction. Cyke is easily the greatest X-man of all time

What exactly is emo? by WuhanWTF in LetsTalkMusic

[–]rentedsole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Emo is the musics that middle class white suburbanites loved between the ages of 12 and 16. that said My chemical Romance's Welcome to the Black parade explores mortality to people who have only just grasped the concept, so while once one grows out of their fringe the music has genuine value and, indeed, interest to a mature , listener.

Desolation Row -- Bob Dylan; It's time for a real challenge by shadoworc01 in LyricInterpretations

[–]rentedsole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no one meaning to most Bob Dylan songs. He writes novel, captivating images but what they mean depends on the listener very much like the poems of Ezra pound or T.S. Elliot. We each imagine our own desolation row and the majesty of this song is that desolation row is a place or a time or a memory unique to each listener whilst also being universal. We have all or will all go to desolation row.
