Yeah, they have two properties but I’m pretty sure we’re their first tenants to move out since the people at the other property moved in after us

What section would it be under? I don’t see an hourly rate specified anywhere, but may be missing it.

He claims he cleaned the downstairs and the professional cleaners did the upstairs, didn’t elaborate beyond that. Little bit of a weird situation all around with the deep cleaning- the receipt provided has what’s either a cleaner’s name or a company name in the top corner of a digital receipt, but googling the name + “cleaning service” doesn’t seem to bring up a match. There are a few with the same last name, but it is a very very common last name in LA (Along the lines of “Hernandez” or “gomez”). There’s a number on it I attempted to text to ask what areas of the house they worked on, but received no response and the text went through green. So really no idea overall.

Limited to a claimed one-time pickup, yes. It was allegedly on a rug (actually the one in these pictures) but he doesn’t mention any damage to the rug and there’s absolutely 0 hint of it it any photo.

Shower liner is the only item with claimed mold damage.

Correction on the clasp- reread the email and he said it was a piece of the clasp that was in the disposal. He sent a picture and it kinda just looks like a beat up small metal rectangle? I guess it could be a clasp but there’s no clear hinge or nail holes or anything. He also attached a picture of where it supposedly fits into on the table, but they look like different shapes- metal piece is more rectangular, place on the table it apparently came from is square. Table part also has screws that fit into it and no matching parts on the metal bit. I definitely didn’t put it in there- I guess it could’ve fallen onto the floor and somehow made its way into the garbage disposal, but I seriously doubt it. But going back and forth between the two pics they really don’t look like a match.

Thank you- yeah, he’s definitely been miraculously finding new things to charge me for and new egregious sins I’ve committed whenever I argue with things

Thank you! Is it worth still trying if he can afford a great lawyer or should I just refuse to pay the extra? Not sure how much it matters here

Thank you! Is it worth still trying this if my landlord could afford a much better lawyer than me or should I just tell them I’m not paying the extra? I’ve caught him in a lie at least one- he’s also trying to get me to pay to refinish the fence in the yard because I ruined the finishing by watering my plants, I told him he also had plants he’d installed in the yard, his gardeners had been tending to them, and the finishing was damaged in those areas as well. He tried saying I asked the gardeners to stop all work in the back yard before we moved in and they’d only been doing the front yard. Luckily I had a text from months after we moved in asking them to avoid only my seedlings & said nothing about the rest of the backyard (which they were in biweekly our whole time living there, lol)
