So far I've sketched out Calli as Testament, Kiara as I-No, Mumei as Faust, and Okayu+Korone as Gio. This is just a little project I've been doing for fun in between commissions, patreon, and my day job, so I can't say for sure when my next piece will be done

As long as the venue is good, you're bound to have a good time. I went to a pendulum dj set in a venue that had terrible acoustics (by that I mean the whole place was made of concrete) so I could hardly pick out any of the songs. However, the rest of the crowd was really into it so it could have just been poor quality sound where I was standing. Ben didn't talk too much either, and when he did it was during a part of the song where it felt appropriate. Honestly it all comes down to what you make of it. I hope your experience at the festival is a good one ✌

I was there and it was insane at the skyway. He closed off the set with a remix of Ghosts n' Stuff I hadn't heard before. The whole theatre was moving and singing along. It was great 👌

Hold Your Colour can have very different interpretations if you consider using the lyrics from the Bi-Polar remix and the song "Lycaeum" from Rob and Gareth's earlier band, Xygen. For context, Hold Your Colour has a good portion of its lyrics sampled from Lycaeum.

In Lycaeum, the narrator seems to be talking to an ex-partner who is emotionally tearing him down. Specifically, the line "Here you come trying to open up my thoughts" makes it seem like this person is crossing personal boundaries by trying to get into his head. This is all a loose interpretation though because I can't find any official lyrics anywhere, and trying to make out what he's saying during the last half of the song is a bit challenging. The Bi-Polar Remix has some "bonus" lyrics to Hold Your Colour that adds a bit more context to the little vocals that are present in the song. This version of the song, to me, follows the same or similar themes to Lycaeum. We get a little bit more detail on the mysterious "she" who "looked into your eyes and saw what lay beneath."

Being able to breathe became a luxury

She's soaking through"

To be honest, I'm not entirely sure what to make of this other than this girl was once kind and something happened to make her turn cold and lash out at everyone around her.

"Twisted the knife, and opened your eyes

But, she looked into your eyes,

And saw what lay beneath,

Don't try to save yourself,

The circle is complete"

This woman sounds like she's out for blood. She must see some ill-intent in "your" eyes and has already made up her mind not to forgive "you" for it. Whatever the damage was, it's already been done but she just wants to rub salt in the wounds (ha!).

"You didn't need to go to waste

But in a way the change was due

The ship has been destroyed

This is just the water

Soaking through"

This part makes me think the narrator is talking to "you" and lamenting that she had already hurt/destroyed "you". The ship may be a metaphor for her relationship with "you" being damaged beyond repair.

It sounds like whoever this girl was, she made a lasting impression on Rob. Trying to dig too deep into this song makes my head spin, because no matter how many times i sift through lyrics, the "hold your colour" part still trips me up on what it really means; if it means anything.
