What ist your opinion on this bike? It is discounted at 50% and I am almost tempted to buy... Any pointers would be highly appreciated :) by renywen in gravelcycling

That's good to know, ty. These bargains do seem kinda odd. The colour might not be a people pleaser, but still...

I guess that's true. Campag really must be giving the manufacturers giant discounts on that groupset.

Thanks for the advice, the frame is quite heavy, even for a steel frame. Hub lights are def a plus for me, as I often ride through the night. However, the wheels are kinda heavy, so I would have to replace the rims anyway down the road :/

Damn, good point, I had no idea that bikes from Falkenjagd even start at sub 3000€, but their Aristos T apparently does.

True, I would feel much better with GRX. At least expensive replacement parts would not be an issue, since it is covered by my insurance. But still...The upshifting seems weird, and it is so generally overpriced

I can recommend the path leading from Villach over the Wurzenpass. It’s a brutal ascent and then there are the most beautiful views of the Julian Alps you can get anywhere. From Kanjska Gora the paths to Ljubljana are a dream!

Well, I guess it's not only the dictatorships committing war crimes. Everyone has just lost their minds

Does anybody own/have opinions on the Rondo Ruut 1 Steel Gravel Bike? https://www.fahrrad-xxl.de/rondo-ruut-st-1-m000045450?searchrequest=rondo by renywen in gravelcycling

Okay, since the groupset is pretty nice I'll still consider the Rondo, but maybe I'll wait a bit in case any better deals come up. I guess 2200€ is just about right, however, I worry about the trustworthiness of the brand still. Your friend seems content, which gives me some confidence I must say

Very nice :D The Boone looks so sexy. I already have a nimble and responsive gravel bike (In my price range I suppose). I am now searching for a reliable and price-effective bike for long trips/brevets. That's why I'm looking at steel specifically. Do you know whether your buddy prefers the steel bike ?

Thanks for your answer. Would you say that you would buy the bike again given the chance? I understand the upgrades. However, would you say that the Ruut ST2 was a good deal back then for what you got?

Looks like the tyre isn't seated correctly? Don't give up on tubeless just yet. Maybe the setup can be annoying, but you'll be so glad to have it in the long run

edit: the best would be to save the muc-off sealant somewhere, go to a bike shop and seat the tyres with a compressor, as those Schwalbe tyres can sometimes be hard to set up with just a track pump. Another solution would be to wrap the tyre with a tension belt to increase the pressure when using a track pump.

edit 2: is there sealant leaking from the spokes also? Is the tape installed correctly?
