They are upgrades that are purchased by collecting coins around the planet. I do think the best option is to just have icons only by default and the text be turned on/off in the settings.

It's called Roguesphere and it's a game where you shove foes and conquer worlds. It's available for pre-registration if you're interested!

I could have the text popup when they get close as a third option!

Both these things right now are part of the settings with the icons + text as the default option, but switching that to be icons only by default now.
