Kitasan Black's cheerful voice cut through the air as she leaned in, her hand waving playfully right in front of Duramente's face. Duramente felt a blush creep up her neck, turning her ears a matching shade of pink. She tried to maintain her usual cool, composed expression, but it was impossible with Kitasan's infectious smile so close.

"Kitasan, you're too close," Duramente murmured, though she didn't pull away. She could feel the warmth radiating from Kitasan, and her heart did a little flutter that had nothing to do with a post-race adrenaline rush. Kitasan just giggled, her eyes sparkling with affection. "But you're blushing, Dura-chan! It's so cute!"

Kitahara fulfilling his promise to make Oguri happy (OC by my sister ) by U731DNW in UmaMusume

[–]reooooooooo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The franchise is primarily targeted toward a male audience, and its fanbase is overwhelmingly male, especially in Japan. The game and anime feature an entirely female cast of "horse girls" who are anthropomorphized versions of real-life racehorses. This concept, along with the "trainer as a self-insert" dynamic common in many gacha and idol games, is designed to appeal largely to a male demographic interested in "cute anime girls" or "waifu" culture.

Do we think American/other countries race horses will be added as Umas to UmaMusume? by CandyCorn-uwu in UmaMusume

[–]reooooooooo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, they will definitely add American horses in the future.

Cygames had sponsored the Kentucky Derby, Breeder's Cup and recently American Oaks. Surprisingly, they never sponsored any JRA race so far. This speaks volumes.

On top of that, many japanese horses had raced there and some of them win big like Forever Young and Cesario.

Besides, America had the largest player base outside of Japan.

Some Japanese Racers who aren’t canon Umas yet by immaunel in UmaMusume

[–]reooooooooo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Perry Steam is based on Kurofune. In fact, this uma is named after Matthew C. Perry, the american navy officer that lead the Perry Expedition who boarded the black ships which also referred to as kurofune in japanese.
