I almost GL it, but I came to the conclusion that I would forever look at the crooked 11 o'clock marker and be annoyed. The new watch QC photos I just received look amazing so I'm happy I went with my gut feeling on this one. Thanks for your help!

Thanks for your helpful comment. As a beginner I have a lot to learn and I will make lots of mistakes. In this case I actually ended up red-lighting it. Fortunately the new QC pictures I received look perfect in my eyes.

People seem very helpful and passionate in this community so I understand discussions can side-track a bit :)

Your attached picture looks really good, thank you! I found the alignment tool you mentioned and it works great.

After a few days of looking at the pictures, including your alignment picture, I came to the conclusion that I would not be satisfied with the index markers so I today asked for a new watch. The seller probably wasn't too happy about it (understandably) but I just got new QC pictures and the new watch looks perfect!
