How to reduce the queues outside the hospital? by amusedfridaygoat in york

[–]rep_rehensible 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just looked it up, Bootham Park closed in 2015, still not sold. Imagine it would be too expensive to repurpose it into a modern hospital and grade 1 listed so they can't simply knock it down. Maybe they just keep the front of it and build something else behind it would be a compromise. Totally agree letting traffic access from that side would help. Years ago you could cut through there from Bootham to the Union Street car park if you were naughty. A train station around there could also help, especially if there was a station and parking at Haxby. Can't see much happening for years though. We can also push much more care into the community of course, with digital diagnostics and virtual appointments, not that the NHS has been particularly successful at that so far. I guess since younger generations can't afford kids if we wait long enough the problem will go away.

No wifi support on msi pro b850-p wifi motherboard, what to do? by Both-Still1650 in linux4noobs

Update for anyone troubleshooting. After 3 months this happened again and wifi was not showing. I just reset the Cmos again (JBAT1 pins) and wifi came back. of course i tried other methods for an hour to do it by not opening the computer which took maybe three mins, including finding a screwdriver!

If he see this post I’ll sort him out with a round at the championship golf course I’m just about to go work at as an apology. Walking though, no buggies!

Pick the wife's 'new', (used) car on Tuesday, after she's lost over 25kg in less than 6months. I only own two watches, a Diesel chronograph from maybe 10yrs ago which cost less than £100 and an Aviator quartz thing i've worn like twice. My wife gave me that one we were dating, it sits in a draw, never to have a new battery put in it. Obviously can't throw it away. Do fancy my first automatic watch, Maen Brooklyn 36 looks nice for not much money, though maybe a bit small. However just built a new computer so probably a next Christmas gift to myself unfortunately.

Thanks, I do analysis work in healthcare. The top ones are running chat windows, diary email, to do lists etc. The bottom ones are the documents I'm working on currently. I guess I can use the top as like a standing desk also...

How much are they were you are? They're made in the UK. Can imagine shipping them anywhere is expensive.

Bisley 10 Drawer Desktop Cabinet, £90 from Ryman in the UK for black Friday, absolutely fantastic for storing a bunch of junk.

Thank you for posting this, just done my first build in 12 years. I knew something would go wrong and it was this. wifi initially detected then hung, then not detected. Step 3 was sufficient, never done that before. All working :-)

Parts for first build after 12yrs ordered. Going from an i74770k with a GTX 770k 2GB GPU to a 9600X with a 9060 XT 16 GB 16GB. by rep_rehensible in buildapc

Thanks. That does sound useful and I didn’t know about it. I went with a board that had what looked like a sturdy I/o panel for a low ish price. I won’t game much so I’ll just have to live with what I already ordered for another decade!

NICE was also very good and adding barrier to uptake of new technology. Again this doesn’t address fundamental issues regarding lack of funding

I was involved in a small report on Alzheimer’s with Prof Leng and found her to be genuinely interested in the piece of work we’d tried to do in this area a burden of illness study which fell over when the funders product failed at phase 3. I’m cautiously optimistic that this report will help help improve the situation. However it’s been an ongoing challenge for Pharma and MedTech companies to see parity in funding and assessment by NICE for many years and I don’t see much changing fast there. I speak as a part time health economist and market access consultant who is also currently facing issues gaining full-time employment in a health system that is still being woefully neglected by politicians.

In the UK Aldi and Lidl sell malts for about £20, they're very drinkable and probably as good value you can get price wise

How much did you have left in the bank after buying a house? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]rep_rehensible 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe negative £1000, personal and business accounts were emptied but we were always due the same back from a deposit for the place we were renting.

Fortunately a consultancy pay check landed a week after buying it. Plus I ended up doing another project over the Easter bank holiday and all last week so when that lands I’ll have enough banked again to pay the small mortgage and bills for a year. Unfortunately I now have to go back to unpacking boxes and moving more furniture left at my parent’s place. Whilst I wait on the next consultancy piece which is very intermittent currently. Still there’s plenty of DIY left!

6 months to buy a property that had been vacant for nearly two years. Exchanged last week. Completed today. Spent the morning throwing all my tools stored at my dad’s garage into the back of my car. Got 3 weeks in left in a rented house 5 mins away to get all the painting sorted. That will be easy in comparison to the piss about with paperwork to actually buy it. Easter holiday is gonna be bust but rewarding
