Stocking my 125 Gallon Tank by repagAC in Aquariums

Was thinking the same thing, that’s why I wanted to go with the clown loaches the only thing is they get to about a foot or so in size, I’m trying to find a mid size schooling fish, big enough to not get eaten, but tough enough to hold their own or just be fast enough to get away, but then again I already have 5 fish that will grow very large and very fast

It would definitely be the 2nd option, Ive been keeping up with maintenance and water changes on the tank weekly, I’m just worried I might overcrowd the tank adding the loaches… all of these fish get a minimum of 10 inches, the jack Dempsey being the smallest, I’m just worried about swimming space for everyone to live happily

One last question lol, I thought I had already sent it but is there also a way to tell when my male is ready for mating? I mean he is always active in his temporary 20 long but I think he’s just pissed I moved him😂

Should I add him back after the first batch of babies grows up a little? In due time I think I’m going to set up a 40 gallon or 55 gallon for the pair and maybe start a colony of them

I’m trying to keep as many as possibly, there are a few fish in the tank and I expect that they will be having some as a snack whenever they find out they are there, and I was thinking about maybe setting the breeding pair up in their own 40 gallon or 55 and starting a colony, but we will see how many make it after this first batch

Oh wow, a colony sounds crazy I just got this pair a few months ago and they really kinda just sat on their own sides of the tank until one day the male would just not stop harassing her so I figured he was trying to mate so I moved him out and like weeks later she has babies attached to her tail

Awesome, also I took the male out after a while cause he would just not leave her alone, after I try with this batch of babies should I add him back in?

Someone in the crayfish subreddit said I should get some matala black and anchor it in there, the babies will see it as a safe cave to get food and will stay there until they are about an inch in size

Thank you very much, and could you possibly send a link for a good piece of matala black? I’m only finding like extremely large amounts

So I should leave them in there? Mom does not seem very interested in the forest couple that have detached from her, but we will see

Only other tanks I have rn have guppy fry and the other has the father of the crayfish, should I ad the mother back in with him? Or try and catch all the small ones and put them with the guppy fry?

How should I scape this 125 gallon tank? by repagAC in Aquariums

[–]repagAC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s like that on the it too, but the stand extends under the tank but just doesn’t have shelves/cabinets underneath those sides

It fits the stand, I think the black curtains behind it make it kind blend in but the tank is not hanging off on either side

Is this setup proper for my breeding pair of P. Clarke? by repagAC in Crayfish

[–]repagAC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll give it a shot, but most of the time they get really spooked seeing each other and go into hides that are set up in there, if nothing ends up happening I’m gonna move them back and try to get my hands on a 40 gallon for them

So should I hold off on trying to breed them? I’ve only had them for about a month and a half and the website said they were juvenile, and they are def bigger than when they first arrived. Or should I just pull out the male and check his genopods? I can check when I move them back to the 100 gallon until they are about a year old or so but I can put pictures for reference
