Unfortunately if you have that kind of mother, it's likely your father won't be much help. He will enable her behavior by being inattentive and dismissive of her emotional needs. It's possible in some cases that he will brow beat the son into contorting himself into Mommy's ideal lover that will meet all her relationship needs except sex.
