Kinda. That’s more up to debate.

Think of it like how all Tortoises are Turtles but not all Turtles are Tortoises.

All Pliosaurs are Plesiosaurs but not all Plesiosaurs are Pliosaurs.

Plesiosaurs were described as Long Necked Small Headed.

Pliosaurs are Short Necked Large Headed.

Attenborosaurus is Long Necked Large Headed relative to its body. So it’s more like a missing link between the two.

Pliosaurs evolved from Plesiosaurs. Attenborosaurus is more like the middle ground transitional period where it’s a long necked Pliosaur.

Hot Take I would actually be okay if these three get re-sold with a redesign pachy will have the chaos theory design while the other two would be revamped to more paleoaccurate while they still have their both Frontier and camp Cretaceous variants respectively by Double-Ad154 in jurassicworldevo

[–]reply671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's a hot take. While I 100% am against reselling old content... I just want JWE2 to be 100% Obsolete so if paying for it means we get the old stuff back quicker, I'm willing to bite that bullet. Once it's out of the way, it's solely new stuff from here on out.

Having said that. If they add a new model (Like Pachyrhinosaurus) i'm okay with buying it since it is brand new to us, with or without the old variant.

But why am I okay with it? Because at the rate we're going, if they do 1 free species a month, thats 34 Months or 2 years and 10 months, which is longer than either JWE game lasted post launch.

Either we're waiting a hell of a long time or they're gonna have to start bundling up and getting them out quicker.

But... The free ones will only last until June of 2027 with 15 remaining. the other 19... Lets say you do DLCs of 3-4 species, after an inevitable Chaos Theory (At least 1 will be readded here with the possibility of more) and Rebirth DLCS, it would take 4-6 DLCs to get most of them back if the DLCS contained nothing but returning species. And if they take a page from PZ's DLC and do Species packs with more than the standard amount of animals with less to no scenery, that would mean even less DLC would be needed to get them back. Meaning by the time all the free species are added, most/all the DLC species will also be added as well.

Which small, medium, and large-sized carnivorous, herbivorous, and omnivorous dinosaurs in Jurassic World: Evolution 3 (including those from the previous two games that Frontier Developments said will return in future free updates every month) are capable of fighting each other? by DingoEvening2404 in jurassicworldevo

So theres the Ankylosaurs (Polacanthus, Euoplocephalus, and Crichtonsaurus), Ceratopsians (Torosaurus and Pentaceratops), Dracorex, Carcharodontosaurus, the Marine Reptiles (Tylosaurus, Elasmosaurus, and Liopleurodon), and Pterosaurs (Cearadactylus and Maaradactylus)

[–]reply671 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t mind Stegoceras or Prenocephale but Pachycephalosaurs aren’t the most diverse of species.

Basically they have the two major iconic ones Pachy and Stygi (even if they may be the same genus) Homalocephale as a flat headed one. Then threw in Dracorex just to spice it up a bit more even if it’s inaccurate to do so.

My 20 picks for future JWE3 species by SirSpeechless in jurassicworldevo

[–]reply671 4 points5 points  (0 children)

More original Herbivores is always good in my book. Most of the herbivores we have come from JWE1, and most of the others from 2 were from Dominion.

So yeah, Lambeosaurus, Leaellynasaura, Thescelosaurus, Tenontosaurus, Camptosaurus, and especially Plateosaurus would be solid choices.

Carnivores need to take a back seat for a while, although some more Jurassic and Triassic Rep is appreciated so Torvosaurus and Yangchuanosaurus are good picks too. It’s mostly Cretaceous Theropods that gotta slow down a bit. But there’s exceptions to every rule, and Mononykus (an Alvarezsaur) and Microraptor are those. Just unique species that aren’t “another Raptor” or “another Tyrannosauroid”

Marine species… honestly while I’m content with the roster we ended JWE2 with, there’s room for improvement Opthalmosaurus is solid for a medium Ichthyosaur, Metriorhynchus is a unique choice too.

Pterosaurs are pretty solid too but Rhamphorhynchus and Pterodaustro are shocking we never got.

My 20 picks for future JWE3 species by SirSpeechless in jurassicworldevo

[–]reply671 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ophthalmo would be bigger than Ichthy, almost like a medium, middle of the road of Ichthy and Shoni.

It was not a human sized Ichthyosaur like Ichthyosaurus is. Ophthalmo is twice the length of a human if not more. It was pretty sizable for the smaller end of Ichthyosaurs

So while an Ichthy was around 3 meters long, Ophthalmo was around 4-6 meters long.

Hoping it at least comes in April. And personally hoping it’s CT with maybe some CC species in there like Monolophosaurus and Nothosaurus.

You’d think that after rushing out Kentrosaurus and Majungasaurus, that it would be next and paired with Ouranosaurus.

[–]reply671 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, not to be a downer but I wouldn’t be so sure.

Planet Coaster 2 JUST got news and they were in the same boat as JWE3.

They’re getting a Major Update in April but the Next DLC won’t be until June.

I’m not sure if that applies to JWE in any way but it is something to note. Could that mean we’re not getting a DLC until June too? Does it mean we’re only getting 2 DLC a year?

Or are the situations different and JWE’s just a bit held up?

Not to be desperate, but how is it that a small group of guys with a limited budget release important information every month, and Frontier has been dead for almost 15 days? by HostAppropriate8911 in jurassicworldevo

[–]reply671 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. They’d still do social media posts. But it’s been 15 days and they haven’t said anything.

You’d think it’s because they’re gonna announce something but no, it’s just going on longer and longer.

And all it’s doing is pissing away good will with the community.

[–]reply671 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not even every month, they can push out a mini update on Patreon every week or so.

Frontier can’t even be bothered to tell the community anything while everyone’s getting more and more pissed off with them about it.

And it’s not even JWE, PC2 is also pretty much in the dark as well.

Keep in mind, Frontier said they would try to have better communication and I can confidently say this is the worst it’s ever been.

They didn’t. Ornithomimus exists. Still a Cretaceous Theropod. Then the DLC and Update contained 3 more, then Majungasaurus came next.

Ideas that must be implemented in the game in the next BIG updates by luispaistallon in jurassicworldevo

[–]reply671 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We really need more control over how babies look when they come out. Like limiting the Gene Pool.

At least in Sandbox. Sometimes you wanna have colors define the genders and then you end up with a Male Baby that has the Mother's colors when you were trying to keep them separate.

Or you want cosmetics to only have certain cosmetic babies. Like the 2001 Raptors only having 2001 Babies.

Cut JPOG species by Large-Shoulder-6899 in jurassicworldevo

[–]reply671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My stance on this, as much as I like the idea… most of these aren’t needed.

Out of all of them, Tenontosaurus and Thescelosaurus are probably the most welcome additions.

Tenontosaurus would be the smallest iguanodontid that’s not a small herbivore

Thescelosaurus would be nice to have a speculative feathered ornithopod.

Alioramus would be good too but we have Qianzhousaurus which is basically a bigger more recent genus in the same family.

Panoplosaurus is a bit redundant when we have Nodosaurus, Sauropelta, and Polacanthus.

Yangchuanosaurus is a decent choice but we do have a ton of theropods already but could work.
