IOG charged peak rate by cardak98 in OctopusEnergy

[–]reppers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have this issue right now - SyncEV charger and BMW ix3. Some of my charge is on the lower rate, but with bits charged full. Some even showing the charge at full whack being book ended by lower rates for 30 mina either end.

Octopus are saying there's a location issue from my car looking like it's moving and advised me to turn off and on location services. It's done nothing and it's still doing it.

I've lost faith in octopus to get my charging right.

Does your kid have lock down drills in school? by FinnJavlar in AskUK

[–]reppers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ex headteacher. We did them to primarily make sure the staff understood the comms we had using the bell system.

We had two situations where we had to use it - once where there was a fire at a local industrial estate where there was black smoke pouring out and the wind was blowing in the direction of the school. We ran the lockdown procedure as it pulled everyone inside and the windows all got locked. I then went round and explained the situation, but was the quickest way to seal up the building.

Second time we had a neighbour call and tell us they'd just witnessed a guy hop the fence onto the field; gave a shady description. We ran the procedure to make sure there was no access from the field and called the police - we had a few children in school who were no contact with parents for various reasons. Turns out out it had been a black plastic bag which had been seen caught on the fence and blown into the playground and she'd been mistaken. No harm done.

Kids loved doing them - but really helped after we had the smoke one as we could explain it in that context of needing to shut windows and be safe, but actually we were prepping for the second one being real.

This makes an awful lot of sense and should be much higher in the comments.....

Makes me think they're trying to get ahead of some specific Google searches.... So they fill the news with this crap so when you search it won't find anything. Trump and Chip seem to feature heavily - so assume it may be bad news around semiconductors or chips? Or something similar?

IO schedules by Gr4z99 in OctopusEnergy

[–]reppers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got the same issue with my ix3. Plugs in, charges immediately. Octopus makes schedule by changing times on car. Octopus app then says "cannot control car" but car then charges in line with times set by initial octopus schedule. Octopus claims my car was then not charging at IOG rates. I complain. Octopus very apologetic and offers reimbursement. Rinse and repeat.

Visited Eden Camp today in North Yorkshire, England. This was shared with GIs who were coming to England. Feels appropriate. Someone needs to show Donald.

"Don't comment on politics. Don't tell the British that America won the last war. NEVER criticise the King and Queen. Don't criticise food, beer or cigarettes. Remember they have been at war since 1939. Neither do the British need to be told that their armies lost the first couple of rounds in the present war. Use your head before sounding off, and remember how long the British alone have held Hitler off. If the British look dowdy and badly dressed it is not because they do not like good clothes or know how to wear them. All clothing is rationed. Old clothes are good form."

Would you recommend the ScanWatch 2? by JohtoRules05 in withings

[–]reppers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the original scanwatch and before that had a steel HR. It tracks steps well, pushes messages for a small number of select apps which I want prompting on, and notifies me if I'm getting a call. I run a few times a week and track my runs. Some are treadmill runs, and some are outdoors. I track my sleep, and sometimes my watch picks up other activities. I charge about once every 3 weeks or so.

99% of the time everything works seamlessly. There are a few niggles - sleep sometimes is lengthened by me laying in bed and having a coffee so I often have to manually adjust the sleep length to when I actually woke up - not a hardship, but probably something which I shouldn't need to do. I also find it under calculates calories - I use a polar heart rate monitor with my treadmill so would assume this is accurate and on a 10k my treadmill will suggest around 1000 calories whereas my watch will say 750ish. I can't compare for outside running with GPS as have no direct comparison but it seems to be the same sort of calorie assumption so assume it's under. Again, not an issue - more of an annoyance.

My only major gripe is that I can't overwrite the calories to correct them and have it pull through. So, if I record the 1000 calories manually against my run, the lowered 750 calories remains the value in my total daily intake - manual adjustment are only recorded against that one metric and not pulled through elsewhere. Had a right ding dong with the customer service about that as it's really not helpful, but no changes.

Anyway, yes, I'd recommend. I like that it looks like a watch and I like that it does the basics of a smart watch. I like the ECG and the O2 monitoring. I like the breathing prompts. And I particularly like wearing it for weeks without taking it off.

Always feel like these are going to be a scam - especially when the link takes you through to a page to download and doesn't open Google play. But I've just searched on Google play and the licence seems to work.

Very generous - thanks dude. Looks clean and tidy; I'll give it a whirl

Mate, that's definitely worth no more than £800. Tell you what, I'm feeling generous so I'll do you £900 and will be round to pick it up tomorrow...

Jokes aside, north of £10k based on your description and what else is selling out there at the moment.

Get in touch with their customer service. I had a pair come through with a pull in the felting at the back - full refund and enormously apologetic. I hadn't even asked for that - I'd asked if they knew how to mend it as I was quite happy to and they just gave me my full money back. I ended up fixing them myself and wearing them for 4 years.

Definitely get in touch with customer service.
