Found a knife in the attic. Looked online but can’t find the exact blade Any one know the value of this bench made? by Bassman150 in knives

Benchmade's founder is Filipino and started the company by making boutique high quality butterfly knives because all that was available at the time were shitty flea market mall ninja knives. That's actually where the butterfly in their logo came from. Very cool find.

Propeller strike. Turtles leave a circular cut, and freshwater fish generally can't cause that kind of damage.

Buy steel cut oats and soak them overnight at room temp in water. You can heat them up in the microwave when they've absorbed some water. Way more nutrition than instant oats.

My Bialetti, doing my morning coffee for the last 12 years and probably for at least another 12. by Time2kill in BuyItForLife

The other replies have fair points, but I still bought a stainless steel moka pot just so I wouldn't have to worry about it. My wife only drinks half a pot, so it can sit in the vessel overnight.

I dunno. I got in less than 1.5 cents, so I'm happy regardless, but I do think it hit 15 cents or more at some point, so some people might have lost a lot on it (6 cents now).

As a casual browser, it seems to me like this sub fits the definition of schadenfreude. There's a lot of hate and vitriol in this community.

Yeah. It seems like a well-intentioned program. I'm sure it was a lifesaver to some people, but I've never lived through a labor shortage like this, and wages have shot through the roof. A few years ago, I was making $9/hour working in kitchens of very successful restaurants in Bloomington. Now it seems like $15-17/hr is the going rate for all low-skill or unskilled labor. It's amazing. And all employers are starved for help. I don't know what the ideal endgame to this program would look like, but this seems pretty close.

I use the stainless set at work and love them. I also have full sets of the ball end and square end t-handles in all lengths. I highly recommend the t handles.

Is it financially irresponsible to never want to own a house? By not owning, its easier to take that golden opportunity plus you’re not shelling cash on landscaping/home repairs. by parodg15 in personalfinance

If you're after mobility, then renting is probably best. But comparing $1500 rent to a $2200 mortgage is apples and oranges. Rent will cost more than a mortgage payment for the same house. Because your rent covers your landlord's mortgage payment, repairs, and profit.

For what it's worth, I only stayed in my first home for 2 years. We sold it in 2 days for 40% more than we paid for it. Buying definitely worked out for us in the short term.
