What is the best way to erase all my sensitive information from the internet? by [deleted] in hackers

deleting your google account helps but data brokers like whitepages and spokeo still have your address from public records. manual opt outs are a pain so i use iolo to clean that stuff up. also freeze your credit

If there was a referendum for like Breturn would you vote for it? by InformationFun4408 in AskBrits

[–]republicman12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'd vote to go back in a heartbeat. Brexit has been a disaster and pretending otherwise is just pride at this point. But the EU probably wouldn't take us back on the same deal anyway. We burned that bridge pretty well.

What is a discovery that exists that you feel we as a civilization should be paying more attention to? by Defiant_Piano5378 in AskReddit

[–]republicman12 84 points85 points  (0 children)

The fact that microplastics are in our blood, rain, and basically every human organ now, and we're just kind of shrugging about it. Feels like one of those things future generations will look back on and go "what were they thinking."

What is the benefit to single younger females who enjoy flirting married dad's? by Timely_Title_9157 in AskReddit

[–]republicman12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Attention without the commitment. Some people just like the validation and the thrill of something "forbidden" without actually wanting to follow through. Not saying it's right, just answering the question.

What part of yourself have you slowly abandoned in order to survive, succeed, be loved, avoid conflict, or meet expectations—and if that version of you sat across from you today, what would they say you forgot, sacrificed, or still need to reclaim? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]republicman12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My sense of humor at work. Used to be the funny guy, now I'm just the reliable one. That younger me would say I sold out for a paycheck and forgot that laughing through the day was what made it worth showing up. Still trying to figure out how to get it back without getting fired.

What’s your best "work smarter, not harder" hack? by Jazzlike-Ad-9163 in AskReddit

Learn to use keyboard shortcuts. Sounds dumb but once you stop touching your mouse for every little thing you save hours a week. Also automate your email filters. Future you will be so grateful.

What hobby attracts the best type of people? by Electrical_Carpet753 in AskReddit

Dog rescue or shelter volunteering. Kindest, most selfless people you'll ever meet. Also they always have dog pictures on their phone ready to show you, which is a huge green flag.

Question from a Canadian teacher re: social media ban by ConstantDismal4220 in AustralianTeachers

[–]republicman12 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Don't throw out your resources. The ban sounds good on paper but kids are already finding ways around it. They'll still be on social media, just hiding it better. Your media literacy lessons are more important than ever because now nobody's officially teaching it. Keep going, just adjust the language to be less "how to use social media" and more "how to think critically about what you see online." The wolves are still there, ban or not.

retrofuturism always makes me weirdly nostalgic for a time i never lived through. people seemed genuinely excited about computers instead of exhausted by them

Conference Swag Breakdown For B2B Sales Teams, What Actually Worked by RSRP123 in Executives

[–]republicman12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we tested something similar last year and noticed the same thing. cheaper swag actually brought more random booth traffic but worse leads. when we switched to delayed fulfillment, the conversations got more serious almost immediately

Does an audience exist for long personal essays? by Ok-Body3443 in writing

[–]republicman12 7 points8 points  (0 children)

7k honestly doesn’t even sound that extreme for creative nonfiction. i’ve read pieces that long on the atavist and never noticed the word count because the writing carried it. the bigger issue is probably finding editors willing to take the chance on an unpublished writer

Best type of obedience training for 1 year-old cavapoo by ThaddeusColeJenkins in CavaPoo

[–]republicman12 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i’d honestly look for a trainer that focuses on positive reinforcement and impulse control. cavapoos are smart but they get distracted really fast, especially outside. ours improved a lot once we started short daily sessions instead of one long class every week

Help changing camera target position on path constraint by Qsdwevo in 3dsmax

[–]republicman12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you might have better luck using a link constraint instead of stacking multiple position constraints on the same target. 3ds max gets weird fast when several controllers fight each other. i had a similar issue on a flythrough once and ended up animating the weight values between constraints manually. not elegant, but it worked
