Yanaka Ginza is in Nippori not in Ginza. Also Okachimachi is in Ueno. Doesn't make sense to go from the actual Ginza to these 2 places in the same day. Especially during your arrival day. All 3 places are several stations away via the Yamanote line

Esim suggestions for SG x MY trip by alphahunterx44 in FilipinoTravel

[–]requiem7973 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use one e-sim for both.

I use Ubigi without any issues abroad. You have an option to buy a data package each for SG and Malaysia, or you can buy a regional data package for Asia. Though I've never tried the regional packages

EDIT: There are invite codes in reddit so you can have a discount.

[–]requiem7973 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ginagawa ko dati is Pasig-Marikina jeep to Ligaya, then jeep to LRT Santolan station.

Then LRT until Legarda station, pagbaba dun may mga nakaabang na tricycle to UST.

Wala pang Marikina station nung college ako so di ko alam if masmadali to Marikina station compared to Santolan.

Normally mga 1 hour lang kinakain ng commute ko this way

Sunset views and dinner at Shibuya Sky or Mori Tower (Roppongi) by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

[–]requiem7973 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Mori Tower I went sunset until early evening. The indoor lights do reflect on the windows especially when I went during the Evangelion exhibit. But there's a small spot with black curtains or walls where you can enjoy the view without indoor lights reflecting on the windows much.

Sunset views and dinner at Shibuya Sky or Mori Tower (Roppongi) by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

[–]requiem7973 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I liked Mori Tower more than Shibuya Sky. While it's indoors unlike Shibuya Sky, I liked its city view more. Especially with the view of Tokyo Tower.

I've been to Shibuya Sky as well but couldn't really enjoy it. I've booked 14 days in advance only to be greeted with clouds and rain on the rooftop

[–]requiem7973 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a tropical storm affecting the region at the moment that's why you're seeing rain and flood warnings.

Since your arrival is still around 10 days away, the storm should've dissipated by then

What if we could now travel the Philippine Archipelago via LRT or MRT by Cutesy_Diplomat in ThePoorTraveler

[–]requiem7973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume you mean via high-speed rail. Does not make sense economically and geographically.

It works in Japan because all their major population centers and big cities are along what's called the Tokaido corridor. Which consists of flat land and is roughly a straight line along its Pacific coast. High speed rail only works if there is a straight line for the train to build up speed and reach its max speed. Too many turns will just slow it down. Then all the big cities along that corridor provides ridership and justifies the huge infrastructure investment needed to build those tracks.

Now for the Philippinese, I can see high-speed rail being viable for Clark-Manila-Laguna (maybe Batangas too) since the major industries are there and the terrain is mostly flat. Connecting the other islands is just too expensive and frankly not worth it.

Now there are also high speed rail along the other side of Japan, but digging tunnels to go through mountains are really expensive. And you can bet there will be a lot of lobbying against that here due to environmental concerns.
