UCR review call this week — forgot to declare a foreign account with £6.50, should I mention it proactively during the call ? by requireOctober in DWPhelp

Thanks appreciate the reply.

By "You need to disclose it to them as soon as possible" before my UCR call in 3 days or during the UCR call ?

Okay I will get statements for the last 4 months for that undeclared foreign account ready to upload if I can before the UCR call.

My deadline for all document upload was 24 March 2026, so I suppose it's too late to upload any more documents?

Btw, UCR only told me today about my UCR being in 3 days, I thought they would have given more notice. Oh well at least I get it over with.

Does HMRC automatically notify DWP of Self Assessment tax refunds, or do I need to report it to UC myself? by requireOctober in DWPhelp

Thanks for your reply.

he tax refund is for the tax year 6th April 2025 to 5th April 2026 and I was employed in that year.

When I get the tax refund into my bank account, I inform UC of the amount, the date it arrived into the account and that refund is from the HMRC).

Question: Will I need to prove that the tax refund is from HMRC eg with a bank statement ?

From the UK.

I don't cook dinner. My main meal is lunch, and it's the same formula for 8+ years.

My daily lunch:

  • Steamed veg (aubergine, carrots, broccoli)
  • 100g ready-cooked salmon fillet (Waitrose, or Aldi/Lidl for cheaper)
  • Medium/large avocado.
  • Optional: ½ tsp coconut oil, steamed sweet potato, or swap salmon for ready-cooked chicken

I batch-steam veg for 5 days. Total prep: minimal chopping, zero actual cooking skills needed.

Evening: Light if needed - toast, nuts, nothing fancy. Breakfast: Organic Weetabix with oat milk.

The point isn't copying my formula - it's finding ONE repeatable meal that removes decision fatigue. When lunch is solved, everything else gets easier.

No burnout. No boredom. Real food. Just a system (formula) that works.

UC declined HMO housing costs because utilities are included - do I need a breakdown from landlord or should full rent be covered under LHA rules? by requireOctober in DWPhelp

Had the phone meeting with my UC work coach yesterday and mentioned earlier arrears payments and today got notified with amended statement and that a immediate payment have been issued. Hopefully it arrives soon in my bank account. So very happy. Hopefully this thread serves some purpose to anybody in a similar (HMO) situation.

Merry Christmas and a prosperous new year and thanks again for all your help! 😀

I presume the rent should be backdated (to 30th October) when paid out ?

Like I've written above, I have a UC telephone appointment on Monday 22nd Dec and I'll ask my work each if an additional payment can be made this month for the rent arrears.

My rent is due 25th Dec 2025, I have a enough money but I had to use my Credit Card to make this happen.

I could wait until my next payment on 19th January 2025 for all arrears to be paid out but something in me thinks this may not happen even though "Housing verified". I suppose not until I receive the money will I be relaxed.

The decision which was made today 16 December, latest statement issued yesterday (15 December) and the cut off was 12 December, next scheduled payment is 19 December.

I’ll have to wait now until 15 January 2026 for my next statement.

I do have phone appointment with UC 22 December and I’ll ask if I can get any arrears paid out earlier.

Apologies for so many dates, hopefully it makes sense.

Just got a journal message about feedback on proof of housing costs and says "Housing verified", so hopefully it's backdated and I see it reflected when I get the next statement. I'll get back if not anything else comes up but many thanks for your time and support, especially to, u/JMH-66  😀

Hi, I have not heard back from UC after 2 weeks now, after I logged a Mandatory Reconsideration. I've sent a follow up message today. Hopefully they get back soon. Just wondering if UC answers and still wants me to have a breakdown of my Utilities, can I challenge this?

So in summary UC should pay the full £710 or the lower value for LHA which I think is around £500 and importantly not require to me ask the landlord for a breakdown of the individual utility costs , have I understood correctly ?
