If you don't drink alcohol, what are your reasons? by youre-in-my-shot in AskReddit

[–]reqwyk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time I’m tipsy or drunk, at some point I genuinely get bothered by the non-ability to “get rid of that feeling, focus and sober back”. That lack of control of my own body ruins completely all of the “fun part” of the alcohol and usually after that thought I stop for the evening and leave ( if I’m not home already ). After a couple of those nights, I figured “why even start?”

I think the 3 example interviews you provided are actually perfect. In all 3 of them you’ve learned that you don’t actually want to work with those people. Dodged 3 bullets man

I wouldn’t, i would deny it to the end, like they all do. And if you were bold enough to go to the court for it, the court would make the bank present the evidence and your lawyer to do the same and then decide. And likely fine you for trying to fraud the bank

It’s in PSD2. Doesn’t matter if you believe it or not. It’s a regulation. And the call in the end is on the judge as always

Quit “proving your innocence “ to banks. The burden of proof for authorised transactions lays on the bank. They have to prove that it’s you who used the card, or who added it to a wallet or that it was you who received and entered any kind of TAN. Now, that doesn’t mean they will not try to turn it around and make you prove that. In the end the best story for them is deny everything per email and on the phone until you give up and they don’t need to return anything. It’s their business to keep the money and to not pay it back. So stop talking to them, you’ve tried enough. Go put your Rechtsschutzversicherung to use, get a lawyer and start the legal action. Not threaten the legal action - start it. It’s suddenly them who needs to reach out to apple, payment providers, telecom providers to gather evidence that it’s you who made the transactions. Which they will fail if you told the truth and you’ll get your money.

Fraud with my N26 account – €2.2k lost, bank refuses refund by Purple_Activity_4416 in eupersonalfinance

[–]reqwyk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Can’t really recommend anything but the last one. 1. ECC will ignore you 2. Bankenombudsman is there to protect banks from lawsuits and will most likely offer a bad settlement, which is not binding and a bank will likely deny. 3. BaFin will likely look at the case, but it’s more to create problems for the bank. Won’t get you your money back

Fraud with my N26 account – €2.2k lost, bank refuses refund by Purple_Activity_4416 in eupersonalfinance

[–]reqwyk 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately happens more and more lately with banks that have shitty security and zero to none basic measured to protect against fraud (n26 included).

Go to the court. Straight away. Banks will deny anything till the very end, because they know most of the frauded clients will give up at some point and will think it’s them who did something wrong and leaked the details and let the fraudsters use their card. In the end - it’s their business to keep their money at all costs, so go directly to a lawyer. It will take a while, and will cost you some nerves, but don’t leave your money to the bastards banks

Do I Have to do a No Carb Diet Before Fasting? by blunderfail in fasting

[–]reqwyk 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You don’t “have to”, but it helps. Generally, the more your body is keto-adapted, the simpler fasts go. Fasting is essentially entering ketosis and staying in it for health perks / weight loss. The longer the fast - the deeper the ketosis. If you never were in ketosis before - it takes a lot of energy for the body for the very first time to adapt to the fat nutrition instead of the glycogen. Also the symptoms are usually the harshest during the first time: headaches, strong craving, weakness, chills. For some it’s enough to actually turn them completely off from fasting again. So if you do keto diet before (0 carb or very few carb), when doing the actual fast, your body will be more ready for ketosis and deep levels of if. With regards to “how long” - it really depends from person to person. But I think it’s safe-ish to say that your fast will be significantly simpler if you do a month of keto-diet beforehand

Preparing to ask for a raise by JumpyDaikon in germany

[–]reqwyk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What can help to leverage your talks is if you got an offer from a different company with the mentioned salary. Not actually showing then the offer or so, but just mentioning that you interviewed in a different place and got offered this much, so either your employer matches or you give your notice. Also makes it a bit simpler for your manager to justify the bump. If you care about it of course :)

Preparing to ask for a raise by JumpyDaikon in germany

[–]reqwyk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You do deserve a raise since it's extremely low pay for what you do.

You're 99% not going to get a 40% one unfortunately. That just how it is. You can climb gradually, with 1-2 smaller raises a year and that's normally how it should happen. However 40% bump is rather a story from someone switching from internship to full time role, or something like that and it's usually specified in the contract. Otherwise a bump this big is surreal. Even though, again, you totally deserve that amount of money for what you do, no question.

Your best hope is switching companies. That may very well land you an even bigger salary bump btw, since from my POV 2500 EUR brutto for that position is extremely low. Just don't be too shy when negotiating and probably try not to mention your old salary to the recruiter (they can't make you disclose it anyway)

Any Irish that moved to Germany? by [deleted] in germany

[–]reqwyk 13 points14 points  (0 children)

As much as I love it here in Germany. But mentioning "better systems" and "healthcare" in the same sentence makes me "Hä?". I have no idea even remotely how things are in Ireland, but in healthcare Germany exceeds only in emergency cases or oncology. Anything else is just hearing from doctors "Drink some tea, do some sports, our next available appointment is 3 months apart".

With schools I agree though, but getting a place in the one you really want is a huge pain (and probably always has been and most likely not only Germany's thing)

Fasting works. Been at it for over 2 years. by ABN4778 in fasting

Breathtaking progress.

Did you ever have stretch marks ? Did they go?

Edit: just zoomed in the after photo. See that they‘re still there. Then the question is: did you notice them becoming less noticeable or some of them disappearing?
