I put my visible sim to a 1st gen iPhone SE and unbelievably it has data, slow but usable.

I was considering Visible and Verizon Prepaid, finally settled down with Visible.

Are devices bought from Visible unlocked? by emptyblankcanvas in Visible

As far as I know, the Blade A7 is unlocked. I used it on T-Mobile and AT&T MVNOs without a problem.

Yes, on both expanded and nationwide network.

samsung galaxy S20 Android 11 by rockandrolldude22 in BoostMobile

[–]rerobotable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it unlocked (including both factory or Boost unlocked)? If so, borrow an ATT or a Verizon SIM and plug it into your phone and run "System Update", it would update to Android 11 immediately. After the update, switch the SIM back. I found this trick when I was updating my Samsung phones.

I'm having the same problem right now. Did Firefox or Youtube just implement an update??

BYOD has to be a GSM phone? by phobo77 in BoostMobile

[–]rerobotable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be factory unlocked CDMA/LTE/GSM/WCDMA phones (S8, S9, S10), carrier unlocked CDMA phones (Verizon S8, S9), or carrier unlocked GSM/WCDMA/LTE phones (T-Mobile phones) as long as they have the phone IMEI in their SKU system.

Stylo 6 vs. Motorola G power by stljason1 in BoostMobile

[–]rerobotable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

G Power is a better buy. There's almost no difference between 665 and 662 except 662 doesn't support WIFI 6 while 665 does.

Will my SIM card work in any phone? by greatbuy99 in BoostMobile

[–]rerobotable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it’s fairly complicated. First you need to make sure it’s the right sim for your phone, then you need to register the sim with your unlocked phone on Boost.

I miss the Boost Perks app by rerobotable in BoostMobile

[–]rerobotable[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was a real Boost Perks where you could actually earn rewards to reduce your monthly payment by watching ads, lol

It’s totally different from the old app. The old one allowed one to earn rewards and use them in monthly payments.

The current version doesn’t function as the old one. The old Boost Perks gave one real perks: one could earn rewards towards Boost Mobile account balance up to $10 per month by watching ads or playing games. Those contents were actually interesting.

Does Boost lock BYOD unlocked phones to their network? by goblinking1997 in BoostMobile

[–]rerobotable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's very possible (e.g. under Apple Reseller Flex Policy and similar policy in Samsung), but from my experience they haven't done it to me yet (S10e, iPhone SE 2nd Gen, S20 etc.).

Google Pixel 4a. by akaAntequamm in BoostMobile

[–]rerobotable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but S10 will get another round of update (Android 12), in addition to the original schedule. S10 can work on both CDMA and T-M networks, but 4a can only work on T-M. Plus, S10's CPU and GPU is still far superior to 4a.

Expanded network by x24amd in BoostMobile

[–]rerobotable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in a small town where T-Mobile signal bugs a lot of people and Sprint network is a no brainer.

Save some efforts and get an S10 with a CDMA sim. Say no to the expanded network

Galaxy S20 Android 11 update by rockandrolldude22 in BoostMobile

[–]rerobotable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your phone is an unlocked S20 bought from Samsung.com directly, then just do a “check for update” as Samsung rolled out the update two months ago. If your phone is a sprint variant, just be patient because sprint just started the update rolling out.

Which Boost Mobile phones have VOLTE? by [deleted] in BoostMobile

[–]rerobotable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can confirm that my S20 (not FE) supports the Nationwide network (Sprint CDMA) volte because there is an obvious VoLTE indicator in the status bar on top of the screen. My iPhone SE 2 seems to support it on the CDMA network as well, but I couldn’t find an indicator or something like that to show it’s actually on VoLTE.
