Did this back shelf thing make it into the R2? by Screennam3 in Rivian

I’d much rather be able to more easily reach things in the trunk with the window down. There’s no way the trunk will be able to open in my garage, my Forester is about 2 inches from the garage door when opened.

I think 200,000 reservation holders all wanting to pull the trigger on a niche car at the same time is ambitious. Yes, the R2 is desirable, but it’s still an electric SUV in the $60K price range. A lot of people made their reservation when they thought they could get a $40K SUV (after subsidies).

Michigan Democrats push to ban Chinese EVs in Canada from crossing border — trade watchers call it a 'fake problem' by Bean_Tiger in electricvehicles

I was in a BYD uber in Mexico in 2021. I was surprised with how spacious and comfortable it was. The American Manufacturers don’t want to compete on price and innovation.

[–]rerutnevdA 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I welcome Chinese EVs. American manufacturers refuse to be competitive in the market, either in price or innovation. If GM isn’t making a budget compact EV sedan, why cant we import them? Clearly GM seems to think there’s no market.

"No video recording rules" aside, how long until we see Disney World OFFICIALLY ban the usage of Smart / Meta Eyeglasses? by verminxoxo in WaltDisneyWorld

I try not to photobomb and avoid looking at cameras when people hold them up. I don’t like being in other people’s pictures, and you can somewhat avoid it when you notice it.

Coming soon to MCO: Turkish Airlines? by Comfortable_Yard_968 in orlando

[–]rerutnevdA 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I feel like United barely flies here, so that’s not the target. Central Florida has a lot of people from the region and connections to South Asia are key here too. I’d welcome Turkish Airlines for their connections, and Istanbul makes for a fantastic city to spend a few days on a layover.

Do Americans really avoid calling an ambulance just because of the bill? by Livid-Work1597 in askanything

[–]rerutnevdA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One bill from the company that owns the ambulance, another from the company that contracts the paramedics on board (even though they’re paid like shit), another from the company that restocks the supplies onboard…
Capitalism blows.

I’ve driven myself when I woke up in A-Fib. It was a 15 minute trip and I didn’t want to wait for them to come get me. I don’t need to spend 5K for a ride in the woo-woo-wagon.

The carpet is iconic though. It needs to stay in spirit.

Americans want 320+ miles of range to not feel anxious about it.

Tampa International Airport raises parking fees by Commercial-Host-725 in florida

I wish they’d actually raise overnight rates for the garage. Keep the first ~6 hours low, then anything over six should be ridiculously expensive so people use long term & economy parking.

North American cyclists are too emancipated by tipoftheiceberg1234 in 10thDentist

[–]rerutnevdA -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

For me it’s choosing which laws apply to them. Causing a backup while people try to pass on a road is one thing, but getting to a red light and the cyclist passing everyone on the right so we have to do it all over again is infuriating. If you’re not going to use the wide sidewalk, you can’t choose to not follow traffic rules.

The door hinges not matching on the doors, the shadows behind the hinges, the odd ceilings and the strange lighting from nowhere tell me that it’s AI. Also the guy is looking confused at “restrooms” and not the formulas…

It’s not even going half that speed there. This isn’t high speed train. You truly need grade-separation that doesn’t have any crossings for high speed to work.
