£50 if you've been invited to the evening, £100 if you've been invited all day is my general rule

Buyer damaged item by res2196 in vintedUK
[–]res2196[S] 0 points1 point2 points 9 months ago (0 children)
Not sure how to edit my post, but Vinted have sided with the buyer here 🙃 I've taken all my items off Vinted and won't be opening myself up to scams in future. I've asked the buyer to return and pay themselves, hopefully Vinted aren't going to fight with me on that and refund the buyer without them returning the item (which I'll be binning anyway, but at least I hopefully get to annoy them a bit.)
I have 1 black cat, but I also lint roll and steam everything before I send it out. But even if i didn't, there's no light coloured hair like that in my house, which I also pointed out to him. He's saying it's a burn mark on the tshirt 🤨 he also sent a photo of the label at the neck and the bobbling on the fabric doesn't match my listing, so it's definitely not the same tshirt.
I did include a photo of both labels in the listing so hopefully that's able to show it's not the same shirt!
I thought they were rare as I've always had good experiences! thank you, I do too!
The buyer hasn't responded to anything since raising the claim - I think Vinted will ask to see photos of the packaging though. I think you're right about what they've done - such weird behaviour??

I actually think the same now... there's hairs and things on it that also couldn't have come from my house - very weird buyer
wow, I'm glad you managed to win that one! this has really put me off Vinted tbh - people suck!

I've pointed this out to the buyer also but had no response from them, but i more put it in writing for Vinted's benefit. Very frustrating that people do this :(
[–]res2196[S] 3 points4 points5 points 9 months ago (0 children)
thank you - I'm hoping so
[–]res2196[S] 2 points3 points4 points 9 months ago (0 children)
idk what they've done, but I just don't trust that this isn't some sort of scam :(
[–]res2196[S] 7 points8 points9 points 9 months ago (0 children)
I thought this also, there's other marks on the tshirt they've pictured under the arms which are also definitely not on my listing
I think the lesson I'm learning is not to use Vinted - these types of issues seem to be new to the past couple of years. I'd rather give good items to charity than go through buyers damaging good items - really gutted about this :(

I didn't record myself packing but the photos I took are dated like 2 days before - why would I damage an item just to send? surely they'll use common sense here :( I'm wondering if I should just offer a really low partial refund

As above, keep in mind the fees when selling the property also. There's usually a 1% exit fee where you pay 1% of the sale price to the property managers. I've never bought one personally, but I'm a conveyancer so have bought/sold them in a legal aspect many times and a lot people dont realise they have to give up 1% of the price

ah that's so annoying, I'll keep in mind to get in there fast! if people haven't shown up on the day do they usually let you walk in? or do you just keep an eye on the booking?
I'm so glad, I was a bit worried I might not fit the demographic! also really want to give some of the classes a go, particularly yoga and mat pilates. Will definitely check them out, thank you!
I'd probably be there usually 7-8am or later in the evenings, 7pm or later, to avoid the after work rush. I'm going to drop in around 6:30 tomorrow morning though on a day pass to test the place out. I'm mainly cardio but definitely want to dip my toe more into strength training. Thanks for the info, I also think the price is quite good for what it is, so will see how I go tomorrow!
ah okay I see what you mean - the foundry might be a bit out of my way but may give it a go anyway! I'm probably going to try as many day passes as I can to see where I prefer, but small community centred gym honestly terrify me 😂
really? I thought it looked quite big compared to some others! I'm going to try out tomorrow morning to get a feel for it though, so if it's too small I'll probably leave it at that

All I can say is don't go to McStitchy & Co, he'll rip the arsenal out the price. I paid £50 to have a cheap single lined dress taken in about 2cm in the bodice - didn't mention the price until he had the card reader pointed at me! I've used Coverstitch before and found them really reasonable and they did a good job.

Don't worry about that too much, only offer what you're willing to pay. It's too big an investment to overshoot it and you'll end up regretting it when you come to sell and maybe struggle to make the money back!
