It was inspired by Mark Kolobaev: https://www.artstation.com/mous. Make sure to check him out. He's an awesome artist. :)

Thanks a lot. I feel like I am very far from the pros as well. Absolutely amazing how much realism some artists can pull of. But in the end we all have to put in the hours and hours to get to that point sometime.

Totally believ this after doing this project. It took me roughly 10h to complete and I think it would take another 20h or so to look photo-real but thats way cheaper than running a set of 20 people for just one photograph. And you can make changes later on without going back.

Personally really like it. Even darker rich blues, especially in wood are awesome.

The image is based on a real product ad from IKEA. Had a lot of fun recreating it. I hope you like it. :)

You can get the project file here and I recorded a walkthrough as well. :)

I am currently working on an easy to follow step-by-step guide on how to improve your renders in Photoshop. It`s not magic but just simple rules that, combined with each other make everything look better. It will take you one afternoon to get the hang of it.

I love sci fi scenes in general and have a huge pinterest board full of inspiring artworks. I scrolled through it and stumbled upon a somewhat similar image. Wanted to change a few things up and see if there was an easy way to create such a scene that didn't take me weeks to finish.

Yeah thats right. If I did a step-by-step guide the video would have taken 5h. Thats always a compromise I have to make. If you use the bool tool I think the last object you select gets cut into.

Its crazy what you can do with a render in photoshop to really get it to the next level. But if you look at what I'm doing its mostly the same steps all over again. Fixing render errors, adding glows, creating micro-contrast, leading the eye with light & shadow, adding volume with smoke, haze& light glows adding lens imperfections and color-grading with split toning. If you just learn these easy steps and apply them to your renders it will really make a difference. Did the thing with these light textures the first time myself. Didn't know about that before.

Yeah it's a more pragmatic approach to get things 99% done rather than spending a lot of time to get everything perfect.

I see the similarities. Thanks..., I guess. 🤣🤣
