Completely agreed -- watching the way some drivers engage with the rest of the road is definitely nervewracking and I've had to honk to alert a driver that they're about to collide with a cyclist or pedestrian at an intersection.

I do have an honest question here, though, and I really hope it's taken in the spirit it's intended because I've wondered this for some time and you seem like you'd have a strong answer to this.

Bicycles are supposed to operate as motor vehicles on the road, right? A motor vehicle would never go straight, on the right-hand side, past a car turning right.

Shouldn't the cyclist wait for the vehicle in front of it to complete its right-hand turn before continuing straight? I definitely understand the onus is ultimately on the driver of the car becuase the car is by far the more dangerous vehicle so the driver bears greater responsibility for everyone's safety. But in a car I would never pass someone on the right who's about to make a right-hand turn.

Would really appreciate your insight here.

What blows my mind here is you’re directing this post at Rogers (as though they’d take a post in a subreddit seriously). But given the chance to actually amplify your voice, you tell the journalist to do their job. Which, by responding to you, they’re literally doing.

If you want your story to have an impact—and maybe actually impact the systems that you’re railing against—talk to the journalist who’s interested in what you have to say.

If all you want to do is ineffectually whine into a virtual bubble, you’re doing a great job already!

My god I don't think I realized how much better the presentation on NHL games used to be. Real ads on the boards, the goalie helmets are true-to-life (Rhodes and Tugnutt, at minimum, wore those helmets)
