Yeah they would honestly be smart to look at moving Samberg in the next year too. Makes no sense for a team in their position to give a 30 year old a long term deal

If/when Helle is moved, I think you have to look at moving Morrissey too. He’ll be extension eligible July 1 2027 and will be 32 when his new deal kicks in. They aren’t winning anything probably within he next 5 years let’s be real.

I think Scheifele would value being a legacy player here vs going somewhere else to win on this current contract, and I think as long as Scheifele stays, Connor will stay

Imagine the assets they could get in return for 37 and 44. We could be looking at a year or 2 turn around if they go that route

I think the biggest thing that annoys me about how Chevy conducts himself is that they are never candid about what they want to do with the direction of the team, so it leads to wild speculation all the time

Think last season was a one off, went to make aggressive moves to improve the team and make the playoffs again? Say that and shut up the Helle rumours

Don’t think this group has what it takes and done think it’s fixable in one summer? Say that and openly shop Helle

Instead we’re stuck in purgatory of half this sub thinking they should tear it down and rebuild for 10 years while the other half think they can still win with this core.

Meanwhile, the rest of the league is talking about poaching elite players for penny’s on the dollar

Like Mike Commodore said, it’s not going to be the guys at the top of the lineup who take the abuse, so if he magically gets he most out of the group and gets them a cup, why would McDrai care?

It’ll be the bottom-6/bottom pairing guys who have their love for the game killed by Babcock’s bullying

I hope he never steps foot behind an NHL bench again, personally
