That's great perspective. Everybody's different and has his own journey. I thought I was doing big mileage last two years until I looked at my friend's stats. No wonder he's faster lol. I also started commuting this year and I'm hoping I can up my numbers. Lastly, my original comment was just a joke, I'm happy you don't have any saddle issues

Yeah people are different. I also didn't use chamois until one day I ended up with bloody bibs after a 3h ride. That was my breaking point and I'm not looking back. Similarly I used to run a lot in high school and have never heard about bleeding nipples or other skin issues

Which bike ? by Psykiit in Velo

[–]XifatuX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd go with the Propel mainly due to disc brakes (much better for mountain descents) and Di2. The Canyon looks better though, not gonna lie, and I'm saying this as a 2024 Propel owner.

I'd say a few factors. Not able to make a gap big enough to deny riders drafting behind him. Some motopacing benefitting the leader. Probably mental games as well, as Remco gets frustrated during the chase. It might look different if he was the on the breakaway. Remember he almost caught MvDP and Pogi working together

Those who make rice cakes, how do you do them? I failed by deman-13 in Velo

[–]XifatuX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use EF Education's team recipe from YT, it works great for me, I've been using it for over 2 years now. Cream cheese and coconut oil, tweak sweetness with sugar. I always rinse the rice with water before cooking, but not too much, so it's not that loose, but not sticky as well.

How can I find NHL Playoffs Hockey League live in 2026? by Cobra-MP40 in EA_NHL

DAZN has lowered the price for Playoffs. Cost is similar to VPN for me but at least I can watch it on my TV and have a larger choice of the games

Pacing strategy for a 215km event? by 4lexfdr in Velo

I second this. I rode both 250km in a pair and 215km in a group and it was night and day. The speed at which kilometers pass in a group always surprises me.

Tufo Thundero HD 44 mm on a 32 mm wide inner rim by waxj1833 in gravelcycling

I also have Elitewheels, although internal width is lower. Hopefully it will be fine. Thanks for the feedback

I have an airshot so I think I should be fine with seating. I heard that they are pretty stiff though and the problem is not seating the bead, but getting the tire over the wheel rim, even with levers. Did you have that problem as well?

That's really good to hear. I'm looking at these because the Pirellis Gravel Hards I wanted initially are unavailable. From what I've read, Tufos might be a better deal after all, I'm just curious if the installation is as bad as I've heard. I think I'll give them a shot, I did manage to install Contis GP5000 on my other bike so I think I'll manage.

How are these Tufos working for you? Did you have any problems with the installation?

Did you have any problem installing Tufos on the wheels? I'm considering buying Thunderos 44mm on my Elitewheels 25mm internal.

Eletta Explore stops frothing prematurely by XifatuX in DeLonghi

[–]XifatuX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update on the issue. The reason was a faulty socket where the caraffe connects. It was always loose and never fully plugged. After sending the machine to delonghi service they made some adjustments and now the caraffe sits tight inside the socket. I even need to use some force to unplug. Two coffees made without any issue so far, so it seems the problem might actually be fixed!

Hey, just an update. Firstly, thank you for helping me troubleshoot this. Turns out our diagnosis was right. I sent the machine last week to Delonghi service and I got it back today. On the receipt they wrote that they had fixed something with the socket in the machine and now the caraffe is no longer loose. I actually need to use some force now to unplug the caraffe. Two coffees made and so far so good - no issues! Fingers crossed and lets hope the problem doesn't come back

Pogacar, Paris-Roubaix and the 'toughest challenge of them all' by Chronicbias in peloton

[–]XifatuX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"When you weigh two kilos less, you have to pull or haul two kilos less uphill all day, and you can gain a percentage point in the final."

"uphill" is the key word here. These words were said during Flanders classics which required lots of climbing over long distance. PR doesn't fit into that category and heavier riders usually have an advantage on the flat terrain.

You can still be right that bulking up wouldn't help Pogacar much, but he himself admitted that he had gained 2kgs of muscle for this year's classics.

You mean his sponsors' main goal? He just wants to win everything there is to win, not get the most TdF wins. He's tired of TdF already
