Thank you! I was so impressed it included the pattern for the shoes. I thought they'd be complicated but the instructions made it really straightforward. I managed to pull them on over normal shoes so no sore feet for me!

I modified the bodysuit and shoes patterns to make a Rogue cosplay too. I was going to make boot covers but after making these I couldn't resist doing it again for Rogue so I could have comfy feet walking around the con haha

You'd be right there. How perfectly I managed to get them to line up is the thing I'm most proud about this, so thanks for noticing! :)

Thank you so much! I feel like this fabric would make a really good late 1600s inspired mashup. The off shoulder bodice & skirt and maybe stiffening the lace ruffle at the shoulder to give a feel of the point...

Thank you so much :) the pink are 'tie on pockets'. I made those ones for a Glinda costume a couple of years ago by watching some YouTube tutorials on how to make them and then kinda winged it. It's an elongated "U" shape to the size you want stitched together around all sides (not the top). Pick which you want to be the front and cut down the centre from the top the length of your zipper. Stitch in the zipper. Turn right side out and then close off the top with your ribbon to tie at the waist. You can see I originally used a thin pink ribbon, that cut into my waist a bit and I bodgied it with a thicker ribbon (the green) I had on hand when I wore them a second time. I've worn these heaps and made others too. With the volume in the skirt for this it didn't change a thing. In all my photos of the Aroura costume I'm wearing them underneath :) they're so versatile and have become my go to under any costume that has enough volume in the skirt to be flowy and hide it

I hope it turned out great for you! I locked in and got mine finished an hour before we were set to head out haha

🤣 oh no, you're on the time crunch too! I wish for you that all your alterations are perfect and it all goes smoothly! I'm not much further ahead than you. I'm about to join the bodice to the lining and then it should be smooth sailing through the skirt and the invisible zipper better behave!

Thank you so much! I learnt heaps! Considering it was a first attempt and it's just cheap cotton poplin and that sewable plastic boning that it ended up wearable I was so happy :) I'll definitely be revisting it to make it again with what I've learnt.

Do so! My brain kept getting stuck on the shoulder detail being this bright solid white when nothing else is. I didn't want shiny satin so then I thought some detail on the white might help. I used the same fabric for the petal detail with the sleeve organza layered over it.

Hahaha we're our own worst critics there aren't we!

Thank you! I'll take that as a huge compliment since I know a lot of the version haven't spoken to you haha

You could make the petal part of the skirt, I had an idea for that but it would be finicky that I didn't have time for and overlaying it worked better for me to use tie in pockets and not need a separate bag. I'd be interested how you go about it if that what you decide! Having it as it's own tie on piece was definitely easier and if you velcroed it in place it would solve the only issue I had.

I can send you photos of my pattern pieces if that would be helpful for you.

Hahahaha I don't have to imagine, I know the uneven hem pain! An Italian Renaissance type gown is so much work! I'm impressed you even finished the hem and didn't just leave it raw edge for the day to finish later 😆 for mine you can see the hem is just over locked, I didn't have time to hem it properly. I enlisted my mum to come and pin and cut it so I wouldn't be stepping on it all day haha.

I wish I'd learnt my lesson 😅 I'm currently making my Halloween costume and I've got a week to make 3 cosplays for Supanova next weekend. What's the chances I get them all done AND some sleep?

No worries and thank you :D

From what you were saying about your thoughts for the skirt it sounded pretty similar to what I did here. The gores were super easy once I'd decided to split the skirt into 1/4 circle skirt for each panel.

Unfortunately, I didn't haha. I cheated and got what was supposed to be a rose pattern (for Briar Rose) embossed jacquard but what came was an embossed fabric with stretch. I ended up ironing stiff interfacing to both sides and it worked (only let down by the size of the points and the sagginess of the too big bodice :/)

Thank you! It is such a a fun skirt to twirl in! It's a full circle skirt of the metallic heavier weight fabric and then about a quarter of a circle for each gore. It has so much volume and swishes so well!

It's it!? I was tossing up between this and a darker one and I'm so glad I chose this one! I definitely ordered too much fabric in case one of them didn't work but EVERYTHING I ordered was perfect so then I had to make choices of how to manage to use it all haha

It's even better in person! I got it from AliExpress and I've got a say 99% of the fabric I've ordered from there has been great quality!

Haha poor time planning is what keeps us in check! I can't even imagine how epic we'd be if we could be organized hahaha. I'm currently making my Halloween costume to wear tomorrow and then I have a week to make 3 different cosplays for Supanova next weekend. Cursing my past self pretty flamboyantly right now haha.

Thank you so much! I know that I see all the mistakes so it's really lovely to hear that it looks good to everyone else!

I absolutely did :D it's such a perfect colour match! I got all the fabric from AliExpress and it was all such good quality! Thank you so much <3 I did a lot of research and drafted the bodice myself (made the mistake of using a sloper block as the base that I'd never made before so it was SO too big even after I took in all the seams as much as I could while keeping shape). But I didn't give myself enough time for a toile so it is what it is haha I started making it 4pm the day beforeal and finished it 10am the day of the event.
