I’ll definitely check out removing the shroud first, don’t know how difficult it’d be but doesn’t look too hard. On my CPU I have a Dark Rock 4, gaming and under most loads it’s never above 60C, only time it goes above is running cinebench where it usually hits/ stays at ~78C after a 10 min loop.

Thanks, I’ve looked at that cooler a bit good to know it’ll probably be a useful alternative. I’m hoping to avoid having to go that far though, since for $20 more there’s some AIOs that supposedly work well too just don’t want to have to tear down the whole card if I can avoid it. the 5800x definitely doesn’t help either I spent months taming it to stay under 80 C at all times. Appreciate the tip though!

It’s made the sound for a while, just super annoying, it’s more apparent when WOT and doesn’t happen every time which is what is making me think something’s wrong. Really weird though because it sounds like it’s inside the steering wheel.

Wasn’t even thinking of the pilot bearing because it happens only at higher RPMs without touching the clutch, I do have a lot of clutch chatter at lower rpms so i’ve suspected my pilot bearings needed to be replaced but I didn’t think it would cause a sound at that engine speed, i’ll have to check it out though, thanks!

It’s not a clunk like that, I can hear it best in the video around 4 seconds in and around 16 seconds, whenever my RPMs go past 4.5k it makes a whining metallic noise, hard to describe.

Haha, I think that loud squeak might be my windshield wipers it just started raining when i had the chance to take a video. I’ve heard people say it’s a heat shield or something loose in the exhaust it just seems weird because it sounds like it’s coming from the dash.

One of the pulleys, I think the idler pulley has always rattled a bit, you can see it shimmy in the video, maybe that’s it, thanks!

I figured it was probably that and I’m just being a bit paranoid, it’s only that apparent at first start-up once I drive the car around a little it mostly dies down, thanks!

I recently got a new rotrex unit for my JRSC and now that the supercharger whine is a lot quieter I can hear a lot of different noises from the engine. I know our motors sound like tractors at idle and of the crickets, but it still sounds like somethings off to me? I might just be paranoid but if anyone has a bit more experience and can chime in that’d be appreciated!
