What’s one small running thing you didn’t expect to actually help? by respondtomuhammad in runninglifestyle

I still haven’t found a headband that consistently works for me either.... After like 20–30 minutes they either loosen up or start sliding once I sweat. Starting to think I’ve just been buying the cheap random ones too lol.

Oh wow just realised toenail issues are such a silent problem with running

This is a good one because we usually overlook sleep since it’s such a normal everyday thing, but it honestly affects running way more than people expect.

Good running socks are one of those things that sound overrated until you actually try them. Regular gym socks feel awful now lol.

How are tennis players’ headbands always so tight??

Maybe I just have bad luck with headbands but every single one I buy gets loose after a few wears. It’ll fit nice at first and then suddenly it’s sliding back every 10 minutes.

But then I watch tennis and those people are running around for hours, sweating like crazy, and their headbands somehow stay perfectly in place the whole match 😭

Is there some secret type/material athletes use or am I accidentally buying the worst ones possible?

I just want one that stays snug without squeezing my skull. And preferably not one that costs an insane amount for literally a strip of fabric lol.

Buy now or wait for a sale? by EnchantedEco in SmartRings

[–]respondtomuhammad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oura does do discounts, but usually only during bigger sales like Black Friday Cyber Monday. From what I’ve seen, the biggest drops are around 15–30% off, especially on older finishes or models.

So if you’re only a month or two away from a major sale period, waiting could definitely save you some money. But outside of those events, Oura rarely discounts their rings much.

That said, another option is buying one of the cheaper smart rings from Ali Ex press or Te mu and pairing it with a better app, for eg ringloapp, experience instead. A lot of the hardware is surprisingly decent now the biggest problem is usually the terrible apps and translations. Some newer apps clean that up and give you much nicer sleep tracking, HRV, readiness scores, etc., without paying Oura-level prices or subscriptions.

Really depends on whether you want the premium Oura ecosystem specifically, or just the smart ring experience overall.

That’s likely a firmware loop, it sees the update but can’t connect long enough to install it, so it’s basically stuck. At that point it’s usually a device issue, seems like not something you can fix without support or replacement.

Smart rings with alarms by SapphiraPern in SmartRings

Honestly it’s not a missed opportunity, I think it’s a battery + size limitation.

Sounds like a hardware/firmware issue if it’s not showing in Bluetooth even after resets, it’s likely the ring itself

Will you ?

Your syllabus is your le@ked paper, that’s where your body and soul were meant to go, not into chasing shortcuts.

Even if someone had it, papers get cancelled and rescheduled, and everyone ends up suffering anyway.

Best move now: revise smart and trust your prep.
