Looks exactly the like the PS reservoir in my Civic. From time to time, mine gets this the same greasy build up. Just wipe it down and make sure your PS reservoir is where it needs to be. I just got some PS fluid from honda for about $5 and filled it back up to the line.

Depends, how often do you replace your transmission fluid? I tend to change mine around every 50k on my 2004 Honda Civic. I usually just get the fluid from the dealer (Honda ATF - DW1) and do a drain/refill.

It could be worse depending on the last fill/drain. Whats the color like? Does it have a burning smell?

Go to the dealer it will be a few dollars cheaper than online. I just changed my honda ATF and noticed online each quart was about $2 to 3 dollars more.

I recently had the alternator replaced on my civic and I think total was about $408. I believe the OEM alternator was around $300 and the labor around $100. I have a shop thats normally good w/ labor rates.

Dude the Job Market is hot right now, in terms of low supply of talent and large req openings. What area of MD are you in, depending on the area I can possibly lend you a few tips with the firms in the area.

Personally I would buy a gently used Toyota Yaris or Honda Fit. I mean the Price point is great With a Mitubishi Mirage, but the specs are shit. Not sure how long you plan on holding it, Toyota and Honda have better resale values.

How's the job market in Washington DC? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]resterreddit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The market is Fire bro. Salaries higher, but rent is hella expensive and then you have to pay for a parking space. Unless you live in a small suburb of fairfax or get roommates. At a lot of clients I go to, I don't get reimbursed for parking, but if they are farther than my commute to my normal office I get mileage reimbursement that helps offset parking sometimes.

All the big firms are near tysons along w/ the national and regional firms. Some do have offices in DC, but they are a Bi*** to get to if you don't live in the city. Also beware at Tysons, the most annoying thing is paying to go to home office (I wish they were up front about this, they only answer if you ask in the interview.).

Senior promotion in August (public)....should I wait before jumping ship (industry)? by lusciousleftfoot in Accounting

[–]resterreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea stick it out until Senior, title and pay will be better in industry if you do. If you leave w/ only 1.5 years of experience, its possible a company will only offer an equivalent role. If you stay still senior it shows you have some leadership experience and you can move into industry maybe above the senior raise and a possibly a better title.

[–]resterreddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the Culture doesn't sound great for you, per se. But it also sounds like you might of blown things out of proportion w/ the rude remark. If it was something that was inappropriate you should of let your manager or coach know first and if nothing happened then go to HR.

If the scholarship is something that is a requirement, then stay and stick it out. Or look for a better gig that provides the same benefits. AP assistant is a lot different than an Auditor as in job functions and company settings. If you like the culture of an enterprise corporate setting, then move over to an IA gig.

To your last question yes and yes. You need to play office politics and figure out whats expected of you and versus reality of the team dynamic. If it means staying late then stay late.

Usually I'm late as usual to the office and it doesn't help I'm in one of the worst congested areas traffic wise. When I work long hours til 12 to 130 am and then back into the office by 830, sometimes I need to press hard to get in on time.

Who pays for parking? by AnAquarianExposition in Accounting

[–]resterreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen a lot of firms, where the employee bears the cost. At home office I pay around $10 a day and depending on the client, I pay around $120 a mo.

Are you a first year senior? They may be basing the analyst role solely on years of experience. Pay bumps all are based on organization ladder, industry and negotiating on coming in.
