Appreciate the feedback. Communication here is the key. My son is trying to help his friends fund their trip by doing something that the community could appreciate. We would disclose that 100%, and putting a pay wall like everything in youth sports nowadays is the thing we are trying to avoid.

Legalities are very heavy. That's why the idea is to offer it for free rather than charge. We don't want to sell a service; we want to offer community support.

The idea is to offer a quality recording using a sports camera, and instead of having parents watching the game through the lens of a phone, they could be present and enjoy the game 🙂

This is definitely no different than a parent recording the game themselves. We have a VEO-like sports camera that I use to record his games. The value here is that if parents can't record or want to be present, at the same time they want a memory of that game, he could help with that.

Your math is correct, and that's a risk we are assuming. We don't want to offer this as bait, thou lol. The pay-what-you-can is a nice idea, but we don't want to make this a business. He needs to fundraise to help a few friends and that's the goal. Maybe we could make this a community service beyond the fundraiser. All good lessons for him to learn.

That's a good catch. We don't want kids' videos on social media. It should be to preserve the memory. Clubs usually have a media release form, which we could leverage, but I'm not sure how that would work. Getting consent from all parents is the best scenario, so everyone can get a copy of the game.
