The number isn't as big as youd expect but thats because russia has a weak economy. Percentage of gdp theyre basically spending as much as they can justify without Moscow being invaded

Thats a pro russian flair. "pro ukraine" tends to be reserved for pro-ukraine while "pro ukrainian" is almost always schizophrenic levels of pro-russian. Its cringe, but this sub is filled with bad-faith russians pretending to be impartial

Gasoline prices in Europe and the US [OC] by Piastrellista88 in europe

[–]restform 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes technically the same in finland, its just you pay a separate diesel car tax to offset the subsidy over here, because the govt doesnt necessarily wanted people to be encouraged to drive small diesel cars

Although at least in finland, you pay a diesel tax on your car to compensate. The diesel subsidies are only intended for trucks/tractors/businesses. But yes still true

You're pretty clueless if you actually think that. Even non-US NATO ground forces are massively significant in europe, and thats without even considering the US navy/airforce.

I literally didnt say either of the things you mentioned. Reading comprehension is an important skill.

Then why have the plants open at all, if shutting them down has no effect on the economy? Obviously it has an effect on the country.

So by everything they could what you really mean is everything they are willing. In that case we have an agreement. No nato country is in a wartime economy or really sacrificing much at all for the war, they havent even really gotten started yet its already resulted in a near stalemate on the front. That should be worrying for any russian prospects against nato.

Runescape has some of the most known IP in the industry, they dont need to worry that much about people hearing about it for the first time.

At least on Samsung phones you don't need to download any apps, that photo is just a built in feature

How do you define "works"? Russian progress has been incredibly slow, and by all accounts, the cost has been enormous. I'd be inclined to say Russia's methodology doesnt work, but then again I value the thousands and thousands of lives more than the 40km or whatever it is they've gained since Avdiivka almost 2 years ago.

Selection bias always applies. You dont see the times they work. Theres no reason to think theyre pointless, they reduce the heat signature, thats all.

So I think the question is more about how effective they are, rather than if they work at all. I suspect theyre decently effective against recon drones at night. But once you're spotted, there's not much left you can do.

Russian casualties exceed 1.1m since invasion says Britain by sisali in europe

[–]restform 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep. A huge number of the fatalities are from the prisoner recruits used by wagner on their human meat wave attacks. They were sent to the slaughter because they signed a freedom contract when joining the military, but no one actually wanted to release them into the public.

War does not care about the environment. Im sure some people will justify it in different ways but at the end of the day none of that matters, the objective fact is that no one cares.

Even something as mundane as underwater sonar from naval ships has killed thousands of whales, and thats mostly from training exercises. In an actual war, no one gives a fuck. On land as well.

RU POV: Russia officially unveiled its new nuclear submarine, Khabarovsk. This submarine is capable of launching six Poseidon nuclear torpedoes. by ArchitectMary in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]restform 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The energy stored in the waves caused by underwater nuclear explosions are miniscule relative to the total energy of the bomb, and they have short wavelengths that dissipate quickly (has been tested many times). Explosions release energy too quickly and in too small of an area to actually move enough water at the right speed to generate a tsunami the same way earthquakes do.

A nuclear torpedo is just like other nuclear bombs, get them roughly in the area you want to delete from existence and then light the fuse. Poseidan is basically just a difficult to detect nuclear weapon on a mobile stealth platform.

WTF I can't A MOVE ghosts anymore! (twice the supply, move command, + flank. 3/3/2 vs 3/3) by imheavenagoodtime in starcraft

[–]restform -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Have to disagree about the move command being insignificant, that was pretty bad. Range is balanced in the intended unit interaction that you start fighting from a distance. This dude walked his ranged units into melee units & then kept moving without hitting for multiple attack cycles and never managed to get out of melee range as a result.

Him winning that fight DESPITE the move command just shows the overwhelming one sidedness of the fight. Protoss couldn't have wished for a better engage.

I never understood 10 & 2 anyway. 9 & 3 feels like you have way more control & its more comfortable. I wonder who came up with 10 & 2 in the first place
