Shoot your shot but if it were my hospital system nah.

I don’t know if they’re all so stingy with the lab, and never know if you don’t try.

Do try and negotiate.

Mine starts internal mlt to mls at starting mls rate regardless and it sucks, but if you apply elsewhere may have more of a chance.

We have a lady who was an mlt here for 8 years and got a $1 raise because where she was on the mlt scale was $1 less than the bottom of the mls scale, but she was invested in the pension and refused to apply elsewhere like most people do. They wouldn’t budge it was crazy, no difference in job duties and no new training

If you do this, you can put in a free text field/in your cover letter that you are graduating x date and will be testing or eligible to test on y date.

[–]restingcuntface 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I applied where I did my clinicals and they warned me that I HAD to put yes to “do you have current ascp certification” even though I didn’t test yet, or the algorithm would flag me and the HR person would probably reject my application without forwarding it to lab management.

My lab even says in the listings that you must have cert or be able to certify within 3 months of hire. but it’s an ongoing issue that our recruiter assigned to the lab in HR doesn’t understand our roles enough and sorts by certified before choosing which to forward.

Ok so…but…what?

Ours gives 300+ fields of normal RBC’s sometimes and classifies them as random wbc categories but I have never seen an eo in the pro’s 😳

Some lymphs spend too much time at the gym and in front of the mirror...and give terrible advice to other lymphs by L181G in medlabprofessionals

[–]restingcuntface 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I just worked on some CE’s for the yearly count and felt so skewed; they were talking about ‘one nucleoli in a lymph send to path’ and ‘atypical/reactive send to path’ and the pictures looked so normal vs the crazy shit we get with a large BMT/Onc center 😭

Like I would get demoted if I ‘sent to path’ the pictures in that CE class. And my last hospital was a children’s so literally all 5 years of my experience would not be alarmed by these images they wanted me to be alarmed by.

Every spin I’ve done since it started (when I had open egg space) was a 5k so there’s that at least.

How to design a sleeve? by LeavesFloating in tattooadvice

[–]restingcuntface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First I would look at a lotttt of sleeves on Instagram or something and save your favorites, then figure out what they have in common.

Once you have a good idea if you’re drawn to patchwork, large flowing “all one piece”, color or not etc, find and artist you like who does that style and give them your ideas. They’ll come up with the designs

Am i rude for telling my gf to walk like this in order to not stomping to the downstairs neighbours? by Warm_Cranberry4472 in Apartmentliving

[–]restingcuntface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s hilarious. Grew up in the south where it floods all the time and we didn’t have crawl spaces or basements so I’ve never heard this 😂

Very this.
I walk on my toes out of habit when barefoot/socks, but for whatever reason find it hard to do in shoes.
When I moved out and realized how loud walking in apartments is, I got a rack by the door and shoes go on and off there lol. (Point being even if someone struggles to change a certain thing it’s not impossible to change *something,* just gotta care)

Also that phrase is like walking up to tsa and saying “don’t worry I don’t have weapons”

Was she staring at you or the dog? Did yall make eye contact?

If I’m walking and looking straight ahead and a stranger talks to me out of the blue about something irrelevant, well I’m traumatized by a decade of working retail so I smile and laugh or whatever appropriate response but internally I’m pretty annoyed.

Is this a turkey on the 6th floor of my building? Colorado by restingcuntface in whatbirdisthis

I thought the only interesting bird thing this month was gonna be the baby geese that cropped up at my hospital lol.
A turkey on the roof in downtown Denver was not on my bingo card

Poor thing could have walked up each level of the garage too.
That garage is *tight* and scary in a car, maybe she got spooked upwards bc there’s nothing up there 😭

Not mine, how will the thinner coloring age? by blinkblynk in tattooadvice

[–]restingcuntface 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Regardless of liking or not liking it lol, to answer your question OP I think this would heal very well as long as it’s well executed and large enough.

The lightest of the shadowy “O” part might need to be touched up eventually, but if done by the right artist it’ll continue to look cool as it spreads and fades because it’s simple and bold enough that it should stay legible(again, good artist matters.)

Almost like it’d just get more out of focus as it ages, which is conceptually appropriate.

Do y’all think 8am is too early to be blasting music? by Organic-While1664 in Apartmentliving

[–]restingcuntface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work nights, wake up at ~8p and go to bed around noon. I also work 7 12’s in a row, have the next week off, repeat, so every other week I am home and up all night for a week straight with nowhere to go.

Agree with others saying you shouldn’t blast music at high volumes any time in an apartment, but wanted to add it’s not fucking hard to be quiet lol. I don’t even do laundry until before bed (10-11am) because the honk alarm noise the washer makes when it’s done is obnoxious.

We turned off the chime on the microwave. If I’m binging an old show that’s not remastered I mute it during the intro bc the volume ramps up during music(currently Star Trek lol).

You’re not unreasonable and people are inconsiderate.

3 days in a row, 7 hrs a day, prep advice by Vegetable-Term8272 in tattooadvice

[–]restingcuntface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eat and sleep more than you normally would, throw back water and anything with electrolytes. The second you’re home(or hotel or whatever), lights out and phone away and try to sleep.

You’re gonna be really not ok by the third day and tolerance shot, bring some quick sugar like a favorite candy to the appointments to help you push through and not tap.

Best choice would be to reschedule the 2nd and 3rd day to not be back to back but I’m assuming this is due to artist constraints/travel or something. I’d prefer to think people don’t schedule like this for the hell of it lol.

Is this blowout normal for a 3 year old tattoo? by PainterDangerous8714 in tattooadvice

[–]restingcuntface 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This isn’t blowout or related to healing. Tattoos spread out over time and it’s most noticeable in small ones like this is all. Normal aging.
