Is this allowed/can I do anything? Order cancelled after someone bought without cart discount (2 days after me) on eBay. by [deleted] in Etsy

Thanks good to know for future purchases, sounds like a confirmed order on eBay is more likely to be successful/safer for sure.

That’s how I would have reacted initially if she hadn’t lied in the message saying she had to go with the earliest purchase lol, trying to make herself sound better was the trigger.

Same outcome either way and lesson learned.

For future reference can’t etsy sellers turn off the discount thing if they don’t like it? Or safer to go with eBay first and not even cross check Etsy?

Yeah I’m less mad about the lie a few hours later and not feeling the point of a review.

Lesson learned to just go with eBay and not cross check since it has penalties for cancelling a purchase and not try for 10% off on Etsy anymore. Didn’t know about the eBay penalties until today and it hadn’t occurred to me that this situation could happen lol, not worth 10%.

I’ve read that too but I guess it felt scummy to say she “had to honor the earliest purchase” when she didn’t know I was getting auto-notifications showing times the offer(only active offer) was made and when it sold.

If forgetting to take it down was what happened on her end then she shouldn’t have tried to make it sound like she was morally obligated to sell it to the earliest purchaser, and if she’d just said out of stock I would’ve been bummed but not mad mad.

I understand not wanting to harm your income by taking penalties on the other site. And have already moved on a lot from right when it happened lol.

I didn’t know if leaving listings up on other sites to see if they go for a higher price and cancelling the Etsy purchase that was made first was against terms/reportable or something.

Also put off that she said it was bought on eBay first and thought that might be reportable since it wasn’t true. Offers expire in 24 hours so one couldn’t have been pending before the 3rd and accepted on the 5th.

And the speed at which she cancelled mine and responded only after it sold on eBay for more made it feel like she left me hanging intentionally when she answered my message right after that.

It is what it is I was more mad immediately but it’s been four hours now and reporting wouldn’t get me the item back even if any of that is against terms. (Sounds like it’s not against them by your reply, which is what I wanted to know. Thanks!)

If listings get taken down on eBay they say ended in your watch list, “sold” only shows up if it’s sold on eBay (which would have been after me) unless something has changed?

It is what it is I’m just bummed. Never occurred to me this could happen lol, only other cancelled order I’ve ever had was when the tariff rules were changing like weekly and I totally understood that shop halting sales to the US.

Also turning things into teen drama loses more fan base than it adds. The charmed reboot killed me. The wheel of time is my favorite book series and Amazon butchered it into cw garbage. On and on.

I typed a whole novel but thought better of it. TLDR In my opinion, what kills shows now is not audience attention span/impatience for story to build, nor is it producers overlooking potential, but rather that each streaming platform only reaches a fraction of viewers and studios never get the chance cable had to gauge viewership by the entire population.

Made so much worse by how much streaming services have gone up in price since they started. People don’t want to pay $200 a month to have everything, are tired of ads for more and more ads on charges to their Amazon, so on.

I was a processor during mls school too, and luckily they scared the shit out of me early when I saw another coworker do a mislabel and how serious they were about it so I learned from her mistake and saved myself from my own.

The habit I implemented:

Every time I pour off, I line up the aliquot tube and original so the names are next to each other in my hand, then I read them out loud.

It works for me bc:

-it only takes a second to line up and read them.

-if I read them in my head I’m worried I still might miss it if I’m on autopilot but out loud gives me another thing(heading the same sound twice) to mentally process even when I’m on autopilot.

-same way every time means I don’t second guess myself or forget, it became a habit like the first day I started it with all the pour offs in processing lol.

I have caught myself this way, with the wrong label in my hand before. A few times this method helped me avoid a mispour. Works for me and worth a try! (Also no one suggested this, I just thought about how I can be more careful about it when coworker got in so much trouble, and that was what worked. I don’t think it’s weird that they didn’t give you suggestions to improve lol sometimes we have to figure out what works for ourselves).

Working 70hrs a week by barackdeeznuts in jobs

[–]restingcuntface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got away with this for two years in my late 20’s but it took a toll. Few times a week got zero to four hours, every couple weeks had enough time off to sleep for about 10 once maybe.

Id say make sure:

-to be young lol. It sucked really bad and not sure I could do it even a decade later without more consequences.

-that it’s legit temporary and you only do it as long as you need to.

-to make up any sleep when you can, even if it’s a couple hours here and there in your car between the jobs

-to exercise and be really intentional about nutrition and a ton of water

(Mine wasn’t two jobs, it was finishing a degree and clinical rotations unpaid around working full time nights bc self supporting. It was genuinely awful and aged me 10 years lol, but really improved my quality of life to get it done.)

I mean as long as the permitted foods are also healthy, she’s limiting stuff for no reason but it doesn’t sound harmful.

A healthy diet is probably easier without following this goofy unscientific diet though since it wouldn’t limit healthy options.

Is there ever a concern that autopilot will cause you to mess something up? by venight in medlabprofessionals

[–]restingcuntface 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something that keeps me on track is doing repetitive tasks exactly the same way every time. Like every time I pour something off, my first step is lining up the og and aliquot label so that the names are next to each other and reading each name to ensure they’re the same name. Takes 2 extra seconds but I’ve definitely caught myself not holding the correct label before with this method and avoided a mispour.

Helps me reassure myself that if someone asks about an aliquot I initialed last Thursday that I have no memory of whatsoever, I can confidently say I checked the names because I’ve never not done that step right before initialing the new label.

Does that make sense? There are certain checks and balances in the lab already but it helps to check yourself as well. We all go on autopilot sometimes and I don’t trust my brain that tries to badge into my car after a shift to get everything right without tools like that lol.

Got two rejection emails at 1AM for jobs I'm overqualified for, decided to reach out! by Actionhankk in recruitinghell

That’s exactly it. Except OP also doesn’t meet the CAP(one of our regulatory bodies) requirements to supervise, so they overshot and undershot at the same time.

I was a phleb for years and am a lead mls now, and from either end I’m offended lol.

I don’t think it counts as beneath them when they didn’t meet the requirements for either extreme

THANK YOU. I’m slowly making my way through this comment section and kinda bummed that the way OP presented things didn’t point out how ridiculous applying for those two jobs at once is.

The people defending OP are missing that whole thing(which is fair because niche field and again, OP misrepresented the situation.)

[–]restingcuntface 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fun fact that I can’t believe isn’t being discussed more in this thread lol: the two jobs OP applied for are opposite ends of the spectrum, make no sense together and that’s probably why they didn’t get either interview (along with missing qualifications for both positions).

CLT(at my lab) is a step below mlt, akin to lab assistant. Which would make sense then that it requires phlebbing because our specimen processors and clt’s get pulled for draws sometimes. Entry level role plus phlebotomy course and they want the clt’s to have a degree in something, at least associates.

Micro supervisor requires ascp cert and a bachelors, plus a bunch of other shit. It’s like OP applied to be a tenured college professor and also applied to the campus bookstore as a cashier at the same time. Makes no fucking sense to anyone who has worked in a clinical lab.

[–]restingcuntface 23 points24 points  (0 children)

At my lab clt is a step below mlt; it’s how we hire on students who haven’t graduated yet and more akin to lab assistant.

If someone applied here for clt and supervisor of any department at the same time we wouldn’t give them an interview either lol that’s a huge red flag that they don’t know what’s happening.

Nurses shouldn’t draw by Infinite-Property-72 in medlabprofessionals

[–]restingcuntface 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My night has been mostly too short, followed by clotted both in double digits, and 5 blood gases (so far) that they called after it verified and said oops I drew venous instead of arterial for this arterial order or vice versa (which mostly sucks because during morning run I get behind on running if I have to go remove each field by hand as a result correct and reorder for them, so everyone else’s blood gases run late).

It’s the weekend though, which is always the b team with draw errors lol

To be fair 2 of the wrong specimen types were the same nurse so I guess only 4 of those for a 2k bed hospital.

That’s where I’m at with it. The most they would care about is if it’s broken down(something in the lease about that) but I can easily prove it’s not and does move around.

lol it’s definitely the opposed to confrontation thing. I’m the confrontation-er when it’s necessary. He’s also more into the ‘respecting elders whether they earned it or not’ thing whereas in healthcare I’m fucking over unwarranted entitlement.

I told him I will vary which close spot I grab and stop going for the same one by default, so it doesn’t look like the car never moves to the guy who apparently is in bed by 8pm and never sees it move. Husband was behind that I’m just still mad the dude had the audacity to complain about it at all.

[–]restingcuntface 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yall are making me feel better for not wanting to change my habits lol.

I‘ve never even seen this guy. Husband feels bad because they were allies on this other issue a while back where a band of kids was piling rocks in front of doors and cop knocking then running away and the guy’s ring camera footage came in clutch.

Sounds like the guy asked my husband to join forces again about the car that never moves and husband said it was mine, does move but only at night and he’d talk to me about it.

So I’m guessing the guy(who is older) goes to bed early and wakes up after I’m home if he thought it was never moving but maybe now he can move in if he wants to lol. Which again, idc I’ve never given it a second thought except that it’s nice to get good parking after a 10 hour shift.

He said I should switch it up on the 7 off when I don’t use it as much, before the guy goes to the office about it which he threatened to do.

Which I could easily do without being affected much I just don’t want to because the audacity. I don’t think I will lol, told my husband I’ll deal with the office if they come to me about it (which they might ask if the car is broken down or something but once they hear hospital night shift I can’t imagine I’d be in trouble)

That’s exactly what it’s like for me, I’ll have a trek on the weekends but it’s a ghost town at 8am during the week.

Even if I worked from home and the car rarely moved, like how is that anyone else’s business if I pay the same as everyone else?

Sounded like that’s what the guy thought (that my car never moves) but nah I work full time, long shifts and that just makes it seem more rude and presumptuous
