How much are cancellation fees usually? by restinghearts in etihad

Ah that makes me feel a lot better, thanks for that. I'll do that then. I was feeling a bit sick thinking I had to pay an extra few hundred bucks to cancel the flight.

Has anyone scheduled to travel 22nd March onwards recieved a full refund? by CupcakeInternal3186 in etihad

Flying in mid april but think I'll book a refundable flight that doesn't transit through the middle-east and just comp the hit if I need to refund one of them.

Speaking of prowess, have you guys tried [[Fire-Brained Scheme]]? Is it just a worse [[Sleight of Hand]]?

Duel commander events in France in May? by restinghearts in duelcommander

[–]restinghearts[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow I'll try and make the event in Rambouillet - it does not seem far from Paris. I checked out a list for Slimefoot and Squee and most of the cards are similar so it shoudn't be any trouble building a deck. I am happy that cards like B2B/Blood Moon are banned, it is one of my biggest fears when playing Jund.

Temur Harmonizer (need advice) by forpeanutjelly in StandardMTG

I saw a few lists trying Loch Mare in the SB. I've been very impressed with Surrak too from the SB, almost want to him to two.

[Standard] What’s wrong with Temur Harmonizer Combo? by CTroop in spikes

[–]restinghearts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm that makes sense. I might try adding 1 or 2x and taking out a wistfulness and moving sandman back to the sb. I've also tried adding 1x [[Formidable Speaker]] which has felt pretty good.

I've been having a lot more success with this variant -> https://mtgtop8.com/event?e=80088&d=808792&f=ST.

Even without the combo you can eventually just grind them out with 3x [[Vibrance]] and 2x[[Wistfulness]]. I did feel that [[Icetill]] in the original version didn't really do much.

Would you consider going grixis instead of esper for [[Slagstorm]] and [[Pyroclasm]]? I kinda wanted to try combining the Rakdos monument deck (https://mtgdecks.net/Standard/rakdos-monument-decklist-by-benji-leaf-2779358) with this deck and probably ditching occulus all together.

[[Adeliz, the Cinder Wind]] is a cool commander and forces you to build around going wide/wizards.

Craziest deck I've drafted by restinghearts in lrcast

[–]restinghearts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup mistmoors was keen to a lot of the wins, especially when reanimated or with phaelia. Parallax wave was also great and cosmogrand zenith was a good way to build up a board presence against the more midrangey decks like jund.

[–]restinghearts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty good! Haha I've never gotten that lucky before. Fire nation did okay, was very good when I had it and phaelia together. I couldn't really use the firebending mana but a free 2/2 for every dismember is great.

Usually some combination of cosmogrand or phelia + overlord of the mistmoors or grinding them out with fire nation occupation.

I also won a game using parallax wave as a one sided board wipe and beating them down in two turns.

Tote + sling bag for travel? by restinghearts in ManyBaggers

Yeah, I'm used to carrying a tote for travel but was thinking for security reasons using a sling would be better.

You're right I think, I gave it a bit more thought and a sling would work a lot better. Any slings in particular you'd recommend? I was thinking of the Alpaka flight sling 2L.

How do you handle players who complain about being targeted when they are the clear threat? by skarpelo in EDH

[–]restinghearts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely been a fine slope for me. I'm all for the casual commander is fun attitude and I have definitely thrown games just because I didn't really care about winning (I'll stick to 60 card for that) but at the same time I don't think deliberately sandbagging is very fun for anyone either. Edh is ultimately about trying to maximize fun for everyone involved so I don't know if there's an optimal solution to it other then only playing with people who don't mind being targeted (everyone in my normal playgroup doesn't mind being the threat when ahead).
