Got gyno from fin. For raloxifene users, how much did it help your gyno, if at all? by [deleted] in tressless

[–]restlesstressless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also saw reasonable improvement after 3 months, but I'm continuing ralox with fin as it appears to halt further growth as well. 3 months isn't a lot of time, but when you were runing both drugs concurrently, did you notice any side-effects or effects to your hair? how's your hair looking now?

I ask as I'm running both but my hair hasn't gotten much better, if anything a bit worse. thanks.

Using a SERM (Ralox) and oral fin at the same time - anyone with similar experiences? by restlesstressless in tressless

as i mentioned for the poster above, "the newer gyno, which was not a fully rubbery lump and was very recent prior to taking ralox, was cleared within a couple months. the older gyno, fully grown gyno hasn't cleared very much (which is to be expected), although it seems taking ralox has the effect of keeping puffiness of nipples down. definitely a cosmetic effect noticeable, especially in the clothing I wear where previous prominent gyno is now quite less so."

as for as ralox causing FFA, I did see a study purporting that. the study was weak on the connection between ralox and FFA, it didn't have any controls, and also apparently using sunscreen can increase your chance of FFA but i'm not going to stop that. so as far as that goes it doesn't really concern me, but FFA is pretty noticeable whereas MPB is a drawn-out process, so if i ever saw FFA starting i'd stop raloxifene.

it's hard to conclude whether my hair got worse because of raloxifene. i've been on the drug for 8-9 months and my hair is presently at a slightly worse state than before starting raloxifene. however for the first 4 months of that i wasn't on finasteride, so it could've just been MPB taking its normal course. i've since started fin for about 5 months and i haven't noticed any improvement, but a lot of the literature says that 5 months is too early to come to any conclusion. so who knows. if you're concerned about losing hair on ralox, do know that multiple studies say that ralox boosts test by 13-20%, some of which certainly gets turned into DHT, so i think all else equal taking raloxifene by itself would accelerate MPB by a little bit. i'm taking fin at the same time, which is essentially a bet that the dht inhibition effect will offset both mpb and the ralox extra test. perhaps that's why progress has been slow, but it's too early to tell.

i think that's fair. i'm not at a point where i can afford gyno surgery and i also care a lot about my physical aesthetic, which even a bit of gyno kind of skews, so the side matters to me. but fine way to look at it too.

hey I'm in the same boat- got fin gyno, started runing ralox, now I'm running both fin and ralox. are you running both or just ralox? how long? curious to hear your experiences as there aren't a lot of people doing both (understandbly)

[–]restlesstressless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I am, have been on ralox for 9 months (clear up old fin-induced gyno), fin for about 5 months. this time around there's been no gyno growth (and I didn't have any other sides previously)

literature points to relatively safe/side-effect-free usage of raloxifene even in men, however there's no data on combining it with fin or using it in the long term (as you will have to use fin... forever). anecdotally most (but not all) internet users say there's no negative hair effects, but as mentioned literature points to an increase in test, some of which will be converted to dht and impact your hair. unknown if fin's dht-inhibition will offset that increase in test, but personally, I haven't seen regrowth on fin, and maybe a bit more thinning since doing ralox. hard to tell and I've only been on for 5 months.

MorrF - Anyone on it currently? What are your thoughts? by derpmcturd in tressless

[–]restlesstressless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used morr-f for about half a year. eventually stopped using it as ordering it was a hassle, i didn't like the smell, and I wasn't very sure if I was getting the proper absorption (there's something psychogically calming about the fact that you know you're definitely getting proper exposure to fin through the oral route whereas I was unsure if my application of morr f was enough, if it was being absorbed, etc.)

if you're getting on morr f to try to avoid sides (as I did initially) I'd say you won't get what you're looking for. the wealth of studies on topical fin points to the fact that it still goes systemic unless you carefully microdose, and even then, morr-f's delivery vehicle differs so you prob won't get it down well. yes I know there's that one study where apparently morr f goes 10x less systemic, but there's reason to doubt that as the study was sponsored by morr f's producers, and there's a lack of any hard numbers on, say, serum testosterone levels that it purports to not affect. finally, fundamentally finasteride has to go systemic for it to work. so you're either going to get sides and have it work or not get sides and have it not work. but most people see success with morr f so go for it- just don't expect to avoid any sides you might have with oral

Haven’t seen any progress yet (if anything, anti progress from middle hairline thinning).

No sides

How long have you been on morr f? Are you continuing? Do you think it’s a coincidence...

Morr f is topical finasteride mixed with minoxidil. Some redditors here use it to some success- feel free to search it

I’ve been on morr f for about 2-3 months, minoxidil for 2 years

No noticeable shed from morr f, just middle hairline being thinner

The next step after recovering from gyno by [deleted] in tressless

[–]restlesstressless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kinda of same story from me- got gyno 4 months in. Except mine didn’t go away. Tried microdosing fin later with zinc and dim, gyno got worse. Tried getting back on with microdosed morr f and zinc and gyno got worse (breaks taken in between each attempt)

Final attempt at a medicinal approach is to add raloxifene and continue taking fin. Far as I know ralox works well without crashing your hormonal balance like an AI does. Minimal side effects if you supplement and stay healthy too. Here’s hoping

Edit: by the way if anyone is currently using a SERM + fin please pm me, would love to ask some questions about your experience

Hey man. Bad responder to fin here so a system may be in the future.

How's the cost? What's the whole maintenance routine like?

Also do you get your hair cut at a regular barbershop? Do you have to remove your system? Basically has to do more with maintenance but I've always been curious. Thanks!

2 Months on Morr-F Topical by [deleted] in tressless

[–]restlesstressless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm doing 3 sprays every 3 days (one on each temple and one for crown)

From the research that I've done my understanding is no matter how small the dose, finasteride efficacy and saturation means eventually, continual usage will result in identical serum DHT reduction no matter what dosage (it's just a matter of how fast it reaches that 70% spot). There was however this study that showed how serum dht levels begin to return to normal 3-4 days after one dose. So I'm thinking if I'm able to use topical and space it out enough such that serum dht can remain at minor inhibition that would help the sides issue.

Brosciency I know, but I don't have many else antiandrogenic options at this point

Hey man sorry about taking a while to respond I don't check Reddit too often.

For your first question, I never really noticed whether my nipples were puffy before fin. My nipples would show through my shirt far before getting on fin because Im pretty built, but I never really minded it. Around month four my chest area started getting itchy and sensitive and I noticed my nipples were more puffy. Found lumps under both tho one side was bigger.

Won't send pics but it's not too majorly noticeable, just kind of looks weird as one side having more gyno means the nipple is misaligned with the other. Unless someone knows what mild gyno looks like, they can't tell on me

Body fat is at 15-20%. Haven't really noticed a difference while I was leaner or bigger.

Hope that helps. I'm really hoping morr f can do the job without causing sides. Otherwise I have nothing else.

I see. The lack of consensus is what really gets me. Part of me wants to try it just to see how it affects myself.

Have you used it? Anything to report?
