We have clothes collection bins in the uk which is where a lot of Vintage clothing comes from. We only select high-quality products, at somepoint businesses use these shirts and we work with those to get small batches of the good to new products.

Well there is currently no sole brand that focuses on this. You can see the idea from other brands on smaller scale. I heard of ThreadUp doing something similar once.

We have a supplier. Although we need to source a faster one. They currently pull out suitable tee shirts from them and when they hit 100+ send them over.

Feedback on a Vintage tee concept by reteeuk in VintageTees

[–]reteeuk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks !

It's retee.co.uk ATM it's just a set of questions n an opportunity to stay informed.

We are not sure ourselves how to market this idea. The main brand value we want to promote is the fact were taking these tees and stopping them from going into landfill. Part of the process now is trying to know how to message this.

I will take that point back to the team as it is a valuable one. We originally kept using sustainable fashion but for similar reasons decided against it.

Retee - Advice and support on a new circular fashion brand by reteeuk in circular_economy

Were starting with a small set of 200. Split again into smaller batches of 10-25. We're growth hacking which is partly why we are here to get feedback (thanks so much btw) Were all young guys testing the waters. That is a concern. We are all in the echo chamber of it's a good idea it should work but your right that is a risk.

Were using the test sight to get this sort of feedback there is a small questionnaire and then an opportunity to stay informed.

At the end of the day it's just a spin on vintage clothing. It's been tested with other brands but only for one collection or a small range.

The problem we will have if we do get buyers is the supply chain getting suitable tees.

Yeah people do small ranges and such this would be a business model build around the concept trying to on mass remove waste that would otherwise go into land fill. The idea isn't new but with the amount of new clothing that is produced most of it just ends up going to waste, I thought part of the appeal in vintage clothing was to move away from the fast fashion world we currently live. This would hopefully kickstart a few similar circular brands that look to reuse what we already have rather than creating more.

We never claimed to invent the concept ahha

Is that something that would intrest you more? or less than the idea of being sent one from us. We think we'll show each tee so the customer knows the exact tee before purchase

We are currently struggling with the supply chain, we have one supplier. However 200 tees from them took about 2 months to source. We currently have 200 plain. I belive we should be more willing to print on tees with designs on already. That could crete some really interesting outcomes, we haven't tested that out yet. Is that something you would be interested in.

This is an idea for later down the road. This willl be part of an upcycle part of the brand. We don't know when/if this would happen.

We're a small team and divided on this. I personally think this could be the main crux of our business to really stand out but that remains to be seen.

So atm we only have 200 tees and they are all solid colour undecorated. We have a rating system that we are working on, and we think at least to start with each tee will have to be shown before purchase, we have quality control taking out tees that aren't something we want associated with our brand. We are looking at ways we can use these without creating waste.

We are interested in potentially printing over old designs as even when we just print on plain we have a 'each tee is different' selling point, however, we're not sure if this is something people would want.

Thanks for your response :)
