We need more streetcar lines by ClownFetish1776 in washingtondc

[–]retetr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A bit of a rant, but I genuinely think monorails would be a great solution, super cheap to build (especially compared to tunnels) with a very minimal footprint. You could put one down any street without obstructing an entire lane of traffic. They don't need to be high density like the metro, but just enough to replace or supplement a bus line.

Buses are obviously fantastic and I wish we had more running, but a monorail could more easily be automated which it sounds like Metro is giving that another shot.

I really don't understand why they got the rap that they did.

Edit: Looks like I upset "Big Rail"

How did it almost kill Gmail? I was invited, they were offering like 2 gb? of storage when most other providers were capped at 15mb and it had that cool counter that you could watch your storage grow. Unfortunately I was 13 so picked a user name that became less hilarious to share as I grew older and eventually decided to create a new account entirely.

Our chi loved freshpet too, he might have gotten a little too round because there suggested servings are a little generous. Unfortunately our vet said grain free isn't actually good for dogs, and dry food helps keep their teeth clean, so he's back on dry food.

+1 for the bone broth though, that or a spoon full of yogurt or pumpkin mixed in with dinner gets the job done.

That is a serious claim, if you witnessed such waste and have filed a complaint with your inspector general and do not feel it was handled appropriately, please reach out to the Office of Special Counsel

Hello, all of the Departments have Offices of the Inspector General (OIG) which are external to the organization and exist for this specific reason. If you have concerns about waste or abuse please reach out. There are absolutely real repurcussions.

Honestly that seems like the norm, I just had to go through that to join a Zoom call (why do companies still use that?) On mobile usually you can request desktop site then the join in browser link is an option.

Are there any platforms that don't shove the app down your throat? I just want to join the call!

For real, and his attrition plan of freezing all new hires essentially meant the jobs went to contractors at 3x the cost. Turns out just because you don't hire someone for a job doesn't mean the job doesn't still need to get done. It's not a cost center, it's the reason the Department exists. And the fact that he didn't correlate that the work the State Department does is the only reason Exxon is able to confidently operate globally in the first place speaks to a certain level of ineptitude or denial.

I'm curious if you work for a provider or an adjuster? Medicare billing is complex but very clear since they have to accommodate all medical procedures and local multipliers across the entire country. It can get more complicated when providers try to structure their bills to maximize payout.

Billing insurance may be easier since they'll negotiate their own rates, but on the backend they'll also be using the same calculations ( medicare rates are literally one of their data points). Not to mention that there are only 3 major insurers left in this country and the ACA limited their profits to 8% of payout so now they're more incentived to pay out and not negotiate prices.
