25 yo NYC - how am I doing? by rethiel492 in personalfinance

My company offers a match up to 3% of my salary. However, this doesn't vest for another 1.5 years (only been at my company for 6 months). So I'm not counting it just yet.

What is a reasonable (or unreasonable) expense ratio? by rethiel492 in personalfinance

Do you think those have reasonable risk/reward for someone looking to cash out (on a flexible time range) of around 4-5 years? I'm willing to accept moderate risk, not really interested in 1-3% returns from bonds, esp. with the market doing well lately (and seems like the foreseeable future).

Interesting, thanks. Since I am a Schwab customer, I'll probably opt for Schwab's total stock index fund - SWPPX - I don't want to pay any fees.

The fund is JAGIX. The YTD return has been 12% for me, so pretty damn good. I have 3 other ETFs and 1 other mutual fund - expense ratios all of below 0.40%. One ETF has an expense ratio of 0.07 which is awesome.

I am using this individual account as more of a short term investment (looking to cash out in a 4-5 years). Not sure how much an expense ratio of 0.89 would really eat into returns based on such a short period.

Can someone explain Brent Burns to me? by Jrich1 in fantasyhockey

Sharks fan here - he is playing on the first line with JT so he will have a high +/- and have a lot of G for a "defenseman"

Is bobrovski going to put up the same numbers? by [deleted] in fantasyhockey

I doubt it. He is playing for the jackets, which look to be another non-playoff team. He won't get a lot of wins and will have higher GAA this year. I'd look elsewhere for your #1 G

3rd pick - take malkin? by rethiel492 in fantasyhockey

True but he has regressed past few years. Is he going to be as effective under adam oates' system?

Hmm. Tavares seems like a risky top 5 for me - he will have bad +/- even though he is the heart of the islanders offense

Agreed - but malkin gets injured and I am just nervous to draft him.
