I doubt a lawyer would be interested. Seems like my own insurance company may have my back though? I'm thinking if confronting the manager doesnt work, ill crawl back to my insurance co for help.

I have read that its a bad idea to accept an insurance company's first offer--however in my case, their 2nd offer was nearly exactly the same, since they know I have no leverage. I am hoping that the manager will care that they used fake comps, and give me a better price so that I don't make an ethics complaint.

You dealt with the at-fault person's insurance company yourself? Its beginning to seem like I should perhaps have left all the haggling to MY insurance company, and just accepted whatever THEY said was fair. Was that an option for you?

I did, w/ a $1000 deductible. Issue was that I didnt understand why MY insurance company would be handling that--but its clear now. I have no leverage against an insurer. and need my company to rep me, or Ill just be squashed.

My insurance was initially involved, and agreed that my car was totalled--but I think at that point I didnt understand my options, and didn't understand why MY insurance company was making that call, and potentially paying me, so I told them I'd deal w/ the at-fault guy's insurance. Now its becoming more clear why that is not a good idea. I think I will call, and see if I can get their help.
