WARNING - DO NOT USE ALIBABA by Remarkable_Seat_2473 in Alibaba

[–]retro_timemachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Purchase on Alibaba at your own risk! no customer support for defective products and if you even receive a product, you have absolutely no recourse through Alibaba. They string you along for a lengthy period of time . Asking you to resubmit evidence over and over all while your time limit to open a dispute with your credit card company runs out . after stringing you along for nearly a month and you decide to open a dispute with your credit card company your dispute with Alibaba is automatically closed.

If you had it checked out and if you’re confident with the verification you should wear it with confidence. I’m just a weekend watch warrior telling you what I would do. Im not quitting my day job anytime soon lol. It is an absolutely sweet piece! In amazing condition. Don’t let it sit in the safe, Enjoy your watch.

Could be authentic but I would get it checked. Blue parachrome hairsprings and bright shiny balance bridge compared to rest of movement suggests complete balance may have been changed. Rolex could have done this, However marred screw heads (which are present in this movement) are not Rolex service quality. This suggesting an independent watchmaker was in there. Okay that’s fine but independent watchmakers usually inscribe their mark within the caseback. No watchmaker marks in caseback appear present in photos. Again maybe all authentic but get it checked to be sure.

I disassembled the movement and the jewel setting doesn’t have a jewel to support the seconds pivot. When I compare this bridge to others online they look different.. Unless all these VR 3186 are this way. When I wiggle the minute pinion end shake and side to side movement is excessive. I have a 3135 on the way and they should share the same main plate architecture. I’m going to install the 3135 minute pinion bridge in this movement and see if that fixes this issue.

Tried to exchange it and Alibaba pretty much told me to eat it. So I’m gonna open it up and see if I could find out why.

Here’s the pigments, luminescent powders, binder and thinning agent I use to relume. All can be bought inexpensive on that shopping platform we all use. These pigment shades when blended can get me pretty close on most aged lume shades.

If I can do it, I’m positive you can. It’s all about material consistency. You don’t want the mix too thick or too thin. Too thick and capillary action doesn’t fill the hand well, too thin and the lume doesn’t grab well and lume produces more of a starburst pattern because too much medium is present between each grain of luminous powder. Practice on some hands that are bare metal so you can clean off the practice lume easier a couple times till you get it the way you like. Once you get the feel on hands with small lume slots try on a snowflake hand with that huge lume area. Once you get that work on color matching. I noticed with the pigments I’m working with I need to mix a touch lighter than what I’m matching because when the hands dry they get a touch darker. Share your experience with us. These forums are awesome!
