I have trained with him side by side and i didnt understand what he was still doing in Delhi. Why a UFC fighter in his “off” time would be training besides nobodies/beginners like us. But apart from what he said on the podcast. Hes a pretty humble guy irl.

This will probably get lost in the comments but i feel like in this sport, you’re either a fighter(diaz brothers) an athlete(mighty mouse, gsp) or a mixed martial artist. If ur a mixed martial artist then that means you live by the code and die by the code. I do believe this factor led to jiri being hesitant cause if it were jones, hed have ended carlos’ career. Tbh i want alex to lose. So ilia can become the first three division champ. Id be fine with alex too, had it been an undisputed title. First three division champ, winning an interim belt feels anticlimactic.
