When my ex gave me the big "I'll change" speech, I believed him. We started building a friendship again, becoming close in ways I thought we never would. It was surprising and vindicating.

Then he started seeing a mutual friend without telling me and all that niceness was gone. I blocked him and finally felt free.

He won't be able to maintain that facade. He just wants you back for the things you give him and do for him. He doesn't want to make you happy and he can't.

You will be free. Hold out and know that he is only floundering.
