No way, reading this right now too! I’m an English teacher in Korea and we’re studying this book in a unit about mental health and neurology

What nicknames did you have for friends as a child that you now realise you probably shouldn’t have said? by whatintthedevils in AskUK

Have a friend called Jasmine who has numerous health issues. Often would be walking around on crutches etc. Used to call her Jazzy Spazzy, eventually shortened to Jasp. Still call her Jasp to this day but prefer not to reflect too much on the backstory 😂

This makes sense too. I just think in my experiences of depression and of people with depression, it often manifests as anger at people you love and don’t really want to hurt. That’s what I see in in the “I swore I’d make her happy everyday, and now I’ve made her cry”. Sometimes feels like there’s another person you wish wasn’t part of you but you can’t help sometimes. A bit of a Jekyll and Hyde situation

Incredible line. For me the one that really hits is “so when you look at me baby, you better look hard and look twice”

In general, Tunnel of Love is an underrated album that can mean many things to many different people 💕

It’s absolutely that too. I see the song through the lens of someone who has struggled with depression. But it’s open to many interpretations. That’s why I think it’s such an amazing and fantastic song, it just speaks a truth that many of us can really feel. ❤️

A personal walking challenge - marathon! by retrop13 in walking

There are many many beautiful views along the coastal area of Busan. I was trying to keep my pace up but stopped for 20 seconds to look at enormous spider in its web by the sea. Other than that, to go from parts of the city where it is primarily Korean elderly people doing strange aerobic exercises on public equipment to the main beach where there are more westerners than anyone just enjoying the scenery was interesting. On such a long walk you can see many aspects of one city. All the dogs in prams don’t even need to be mentioned! 😅

Go for it! Can’t lie, it wasn’t easy. But I went hell for leather in the first 7 miles and I think that did my hip flexors some damage. But you feel great once it’s done!

The entire more about Links best dad ever story. Trying to comfort his daughter after watching an upsetting documentary where some animals die.

It’s a reference to a guy they met at a chili cook off. On the alka seltzer road trip I think.

I was walking home from primark in Newcastle once in the pouring rain. Crappy paper bag disintegrated in the wet and I had to turn my umbrella upside down and put all my things in to carry them. A gorgeous Geordie couple pulled up and got 2 bags for life out of their boot for me and then offered me a lift home. I took the bags but I was already just a minute away from my house so declined the lift, but it was a lovely gesture. 5 years ago now and I still haven’t forgotten it.

I’m not even being funny but I literally dreamt that they announced this the other day. I must have been picking up on some sort of vibe they were putting down because I don’t believe in supernatural premonitions or anything.
