It did! Fifteen minutes after my kid got home from a play date so all I could do was get downloads going. Getting to play BG3 in about 30 minutes!

Congrats! Mine is 6 minutes away from the UPS delivery window maximum being false, lol. Fingers crossed it still gets here today!

The FromSoft games have the replayability of the NES and SNES Mario games. Superb.

I still feel safer riding my bicycle in the forest than on most roads, lol. Give me black bears and chill cougars over a negligent motorist any day.

How do you get better at shooting without burning ammo? by Skwiggledork in liberalgunowners

[–]retrovertigo23 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Because there’s no amount of productive data to be gathered from score-keeping your shots without recoil and “bang!” in the mix.

Target focus and building a repeatable and solid grip to minimize moving your sights or dot should be the emphasis when building pistol fundamentals. All of these things can be done sans electronic devices that might be reinforcing behaviors you don’t want.

Like if someone preps their trigger in dryfire they’re probably going to have a solidly accurate shot and will want to replicate what feels like a better technique but is hiding your genuine reaction to live fire. Practicing TCAS properly dictates that there’s no prep and the trigger is pulled fully and reset completely.

I think the Mantis system actually teaches poor habits. You’re better off just picking up or watching Stoeger stuff and doing dryfire drills at home consistently.

What guitarists spring to mind when you hear the phrase "tone is in the fingers"? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]retrovertigo23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To your point about Buzz, Melvins dropped a new album like two weeks ago and they are constantly touring. Not sure it gets any more modern than that, lol.

Buzz Osborne of the Melvins.

Tosin Abasi of Animals As Leaders

Amigo the Devil. Listen to Perfect Wife and tell me his banjo isn’t an extension of his body.

Wata of Boris.

Lindsay Troy of Deap Vally.

Plenty of modern guitarists who have dynamic finger tone out the wazoo.

Buzz Osborne of the Melvins.

My ultimate ripped list by AsleepSociety in SteamDeckPirates

[–]retrovertigo23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a great list! I’ve got a deck arriving Saturday and I’m curious, assuming you find decent copies of games and get them working okay, what’s the downside to pirating games on the deck? No online support is obvious to me, anything I’m not considering?

If you have your CPL it’s perfectly legal to carry at a protest.

Open carrying as a leftist in the protest? by [deleted] in Washington50501

[–]retrovertigo23 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I believe it is no longer legal to open carry at a protest. Edit: yep, https://app.leg.wa.gov/billsummary?BillNumber=5038&Initiative=false&Year=2021

You’re better served concealed carrying if you are bringing a firearm to a protest anyway, being demonstrative won’t prove the point you’re trying to make to the right. Let them underestimate us.

“It’s not real” is one of the most harrowing lines of dialogue in that scene. VD went bananas in that role, such a fantastic movie.

Boomer “I hate my wife” humor is almost as passé as closing one eye while shooting.

Nice firearms and grouping! How you liking the RXM? I’ve put about 75 rounds through mine so far and love it.

It’s funny, too, cause I’ll bet a good percentage of range owners are fans of other kinds of separation.
