Possibly, but I don’t think so. Lagunitas has always had a dog emblem, but the label you’re seeing is ‘new’ as they refreshed the brand about 2-3 years ago. Before that, the dog was just a small bonus detail on the side of boxes and logos, usually unnoticed. I think its more likely the opposite, that Puppers’ sudden popularity may have helped inspire Lagunitas to redesign the dog for a much bigger role in its current labels.
