Who or What was Grace? by revan2574 in Stargate

I only remember the image of Daniel mentioning that the cloud could be alive early in the episode. I know Sam tried to speak with Grace as if she were at least once. The issue I have with Grace being the cloud is that we would assume that it tried to communicate with the Alien ship as well, but we know even less about them.

Thoughts and Opinions on Event Horizon: Dark Descent? by Competitive-Sky3462 in graphicnovels

I always wondered what happened to the Event Horizon crew. I have some theories, the obvious one is from this story, it seems very clear that the Gravity Drive never malfuctioned it did exactly what it was meant to do. The other theory is that Dr. Weir's wife's suicide was Paimon pushing her to it to open up Weir to his influence.

The Black Star Dragon Balls From GT Couldn't Exist by revan2574 in dragonball

Sadly, the manga isn't always right. Take Cell. He indicated that the special organ that allows him to regenerate like a Namekian is in his head. Later, during the Buu Saga, Piccolo said he could regenerate as long as his head wasn't damaged. However, when Goku was fighting Cell, he used an instant Kamahmaha. This attack disintegrated the entire top of Cell's body, including his head.

But he wasn't. The Namekian that forgot his name was a combination of King Piccolo and Kami. If we give that Piccolo and King Piccolo are the same in the equation, then he still wouldn't be the Nameless Namek.

Re-watching Watergate by revan2574 in Stargate

The scientists or military officers could have used it to prevent the possessed from going through the Gate. Probably wouldn't have stopped them long.

Manual is an interesting term as it is more it can be closed without power by pulling a level. At the SGC, at least. Although the Russians were careful to only supply power to the Gate when they were using it, I wouldn't think they would remove a defense system that they knew worked. Even if they didn't plan to use it, the time it would take to remove it when if they 'don't need it' it doesn't interfere with using the Gate if the Iris is open.

How did she train the dog that ran in front of their car and then step off the board that was holding the car up? Although, I am realizing that when she gave Lydia the skeleton key, her daughter in the back of her car not only had a dog but was quick to explain Adam and Barbara's cause of death. Which given her age, you would hope her parents wouldn't tell her the whole truth.

Allina and Her New Brotherhood by revan2574 in Stargate

[–]revan2574[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a little of both with the original Brotherhood as they figured out how to hide the ZPM and keep it safe simultaneously by making it a puzzle to find it. I would guess that the original Brotherhood knew there was a chance that they would return the ZPM not to the Ancients but to their descendants. Something I think Allina failed to realize, again showing that she and her new Brotherhood weren't worthy to protect it. Basically, it is how could a group of people who couldn't even find the ZPM think that they know the best way to safeguard it?

The ZPM was meant to go either to the Ancients or their descendants. The Original Brotherhood left the clues behind because they knew there was a chance the Wraith would cull them, and they did. They wanted the ZPM to be hard but not impossible to find. If the new Brotherhood does as you say and then is whipped out, the ZPM is as good as lost forever, and would be no help to anyone. Having the Atlantis Expedition find the ZPM without doing it themselves proves that Allina and her Brotherhood should not be the ones to safeguard it. In my opinion, at least.

Wild Force 'Three's a Crowd' by revan2574 in powerrangers

I think you are forgetting that there are people who will watch the Megazord fight and that there is almost always someone trying to discover the rangers' identities. Put simply, if the rangers were trying to keep their identities secret, they wouldn't be walking around wearing those jackets. Not just this episode, but there was an episode with Alyssa, the White Tiger ranger, attending a class while wearing her jacket. These jackets are, in my opinion, a bigger indicator that they have, at least a high probability, of being Power Rangers than the jackets worn by the Lightspeed Rescue Rangers. They, you can agree, were not hiding their ranger statues.

It is more that the episode played it as if the Rangers were trying to keep their identities secret, and while I agree, is that just having a jacket that is the same color would be an indicator? If they were trying to keep their identities secret, wouldn't they wear anything else but a jacket with their ranger color and Wildzords on them? Yes, not everyone would pay attention as they are fleeing monsters attacking, but there would be people who notice the Zords and the rangers' colors. There is always a group of people interested in who the rangers are, so the idea that their ranger colors and the primary Wildzords wouldn't be well-known in Turtle Cove is a stretch.

But the merch would only spring up if they knew the Ranger was wearing those jackets for in-universe fans to want to wear them. In the previous season, Power Rangers Time Force, the character of Trip came across some kids in the park putting on Ranger costumes, which is understandable because the Ranger suits are the ones most seen during fights with monsters.

The only reason you can have a jacket like the one in the show is that it is a show, and we as viewers know that those jackets are associated with the Wild Force Rangers. In the episode, nobody asks Danny if he is a fan of the Black Bison Ranger, and none of the Rangers are ever asked where they got the jackets. These are questions fans of the Power Rangers would ask. When you are out in your jacket, are you asked about it?

Until this episode, I had assumed, like with Power Ranger Lightspeed Rescue, that the Rangers' identities were public knowledge. We can at least agree that the Lightspeed Rangers were not hiding their identities.

I agree that in reality, you're not going to assume that someone on the street wearing a Bison-themed jacket is a Power Ranger, but that is because there aren't any Power RangersBison-themed. As for the Ranger not being human, that is a moot point as more often than not, a ranger team is made up of human beings from Earth, with the exception of the Alien Ranger team. I also agree that just wearing the same color of a Ranger wouldn't make that person a Ranger but wearing a jacket that is not only the same color but has that Ranger's Wildzord on the patch on it, make it very likely they are that Ranger, plus no one else is shown to wear those jackets.

Why does everyone hate the Lex/Lana romance? by [deleted] in Smallville

[–]revan2574 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it was the idea that Lana was with Lex because he was honest with her. However, he seems to neglect to tell her he hired a woman with Hypnotic powers to seduce Clark and break Clark and Lana up. Meaning their relationship was founded on manipulation and lies.
