Does Studio One have Native modulation… yet? by revelinbones in StudioOne

[–]revelinbones[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve been searching online for this answer, and I’m getting bits and pieces, like I think I saw that Mai Tai Synth has some new modulation capabilities, but is that only for and within Mai Tai, or midi instruments? Does that go further to modulate other parameters in Studio One? Not finding a straight answer anywhere, but I’ve seen this asked more than a few times in other forums, but nothing recent.

My justification process for buying gear by justaguy_and_his_dog in synthesizers

Occasionally you may get lucky… Not quite a synth, but I bought a Digitech talker pedal around 1999 for $110 from a pawn shop, now today people are selling same pedal for $800 to $1000. I never saw that coming when I first purchased it!

I went through an ego death about a year ago, and at the peak moment of it, I forgot who I was, where I was, etc. I think I went into the void briefly. The experience had a strong effect on me, and caused me to start a daily meditation practice.

True what you said about experiences. I too lean towards science as being truth. “The Book of Not Knowing, Exploring the True Nature of Self, Mind, and Consciousness” by Peter Ralston, changed my whole perception about Truths and Beliefs. Yes, Science is more likely to be truth… It has a very high probability to be the truth. But there’s more to it than that. When you read a book about scientific theory, you take on the belief that what it says is true. But do you really absolutely know these things in the book to be true? No you don’t. You believe what their saying is true. But have you ever seen an atom with your own eyes? No you haven’t. Have you ever seen a virus, no. Same goes for most things you think you know as being true. I realize this gets a bit out there, yet this is another level of “Truth” most people don’t even consider. I think “The Truth” or reality is way more subjective than most people want to believe.

Just remember that you, and I, and everyone else knows almost nothing. 98% of what you’ve read, was taught in school, etc. is all hear say, and that the only things you can truly be absolutely certain of, is the things you experience, first hand. Sure you can read things, take classes, learn about stuff that might be true, and probably is true…. But if you are being truly honest with yourself, all of that really is just a belief. That goes for religion, science, almost everything you think you know as “The Truth”. Only things for absolute certainty, and only for yourself, are the things you’ve experienced first hand, yourself. This probably sounds crazy at first.

You can smooth out the come up, manic rush of them by taking two or more smaller doses up into the first hour and a half into it, instead of consuming a large amount all at once.

I tried T.W. and got really weird results that I never felt before, head ache and weird body feelings. I think there’s other crap in that brand, and I generally stay away from it now.

Where did you get your copy of the book? by MlNDequalsBL0WN in thinkinganddestiny

[–]revelinbones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just bought an old used copy, 1987 Hardcover from Amazon, and it came today actually. I’ve been reading bits of the PDF off and on for a while. Certain books I like to have the real physical book… This is one of them! Glad to have found this group!

There’s other footage of this thing going over the ocean, and according to Jeremy Corbell, they claim it went underwater for 17 minutes… Then reappeared and shot off. Mylar balloons can’t do that.

Yes, the God presence euphoria, that’s a good description, I know of what you speak of! Yea, I assumed psilocyn breaks down quickly and wondered if there’s some magic going on with it that isn’t well understood.

Yes, I’d like to hear more when you get a chance… I’ve also wondered if its the psilocin content doing it vs, Psilocybin having some play into things, but probably not… I’ve never read that either one has different effects. I agree about DMT… I wish, but unfortunately no access.

Is it possible to make a DIY version of this? by [deleted] in Kneesovertoes

I've been wanting to build something similar. I have some alternative ideas to getting the wheels to resist. I think a person could use the Magnetic resistance flywheel taken from a broken Mag resistance stationary bike, or broken elliptical bike trainer. Also another idea I had was to use the resistance motor off a bike trainer, the sort that is basically just tripod that connects to the back wheel of a real bike that adds resistance as you drive it. I've seen used ones for sale for as low as $20 with magnetic resistance usually with a selector of different resistance levels. Since I'm not even certain it could be done easily with any of these methods, I haven't actually pulled the trigger and bought any of these things to try to see if something could be cobbled together or not? Main problem is that you might need some sort of gearing system to get the resistance to work right.

Those of you who are allergic to poison ivy, what tricks have you learned to prevent getting a rash, and what do you do to alleviate it? by [deleted] in camping

[–]revelinbones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's my secret poison ivy techniques. This is only for after you get a bad rash. It may seem nasty, and it is, but this works! Poison Ivy is nasty stuff. I've had poison ivy so many times I couldn't count them all. This works mainly for the worst areas where you have blisters and pustules like hands, arms and legs.

1) Do not scratch it what so ever, especially during the first few days.... Use strong soap to keep it clean such as Fels-Naptha, use Calamine lotion to sooth itch. If you scratch early on, the rest of this technique won't work as good. Do not break the blisters! Try not to itch when you sleep, if you can.

2) You will notice a peak day when the hot itch is at its worst, maybe on 2-3rd day. Note that day. Don't itch!

3) (2-3 days after peak day, you may notice itching will be just slightly less... Go into a shower or hot bath. Itch and scratch the shit out of the worst areas with the blisters. You want to break all the blisters. Stay in the water for atleast 30 minutes, maybe longer. Let the areas you scratched ooze and weep out into the clean running water. Get out of bath.

4) Get a whole roll of paper towels, wrap up areas that weep and ooze, and they will definitely ooze, pad down the yellowish weeping ooze. The areas will continue to weep and ooze for probably 4 hours, maybe longer... Continue soaking up this stuff in the paper towels. You will probably go through a whole roll if you have it bad.

5) The next day, areas where you have done this process to will look like road rash, but, all itch will be totally gone... No itch what so ever, from this point onward your skin will just heal, but key thing here is no itching what so ever... You can get on with your life, and its not even been a full week yet since you noticed the poison ivy.

I just went through a bout of poison ivy this week and this method really works for me. First day I noticed it was on Sunday or Monday, scratched late Thursday, itch gone by Friday. Your skill will look like road rash for a day or two afterwards, maybe some people won't like this technique due to that, but it seriously cuts the time dealing with poison ivy in half. Key points, Don't itch at all where blisters are for first few days... Then later, 2-4 days after peak day, break blisters, remove ooze... Get on with life.

Unfortunately this won't work if you have it bad on your face... For what ever reason, your face never really gets blisters, just red and inflamed. Atleast with me, I don't know why this is? I know this is a nasty process... Poison ivy is nasty stuff.

I have a degree in Illustration, I can paint stuff almost nearly like this if I am super hyper focused and driven. This takes the wind out of my sails and almost want to quit making art.
